All Welcome
figured we can do another single-round thread here! then folks can break out into other threads as needed. sialuk will be staying for nine days (leaving on november 8th) to sing the songs for samani each night. <3

@Maggak @Acrux @Whip @Orca II @Rodyn @Panuk @Rolayne

With children in tow, the wolves of village Moonspear arrived in good time. She caught the scent of @Kukutux on the ground, thankful that anaa had gotten the message and would be here to meet with them. All four children had done well during the journey, and the starwoman was proud of them. Even more than that, she was excited to see her siblings, nieces, nephews, and own children mix with one another—not to mention @Seal. She was weary from the journey, but she made sure that everyone was safe and sound getting up the plateau, checking in with the guardians and children alike.

This is village Moontide, she said to the children. It is where Panuk and Rolayne were born, where Rodyn lives, and where they too will find a home now. She did not know if they would protest this, but she had noted some resistance in both Maggak and Acrux as of late. It must have been difficult to wrap their thoughts around losing the cousins they had come to know as brothers. We will visit them often so you will never feel far apart.

This place smells weird. The ocean smells weird. For the last stretch of the journey, Maggak's nose had been scrunched in quiet disapproval; she kept to her anaa and to Acrux, occasionally giving Panuk and Rolayne an encouraging shove with her nose — they were younger, and therefor slower, and she was not a fan of this.
This smelly, flat place was the fabled village of Moontide. Maggak, decidedly, missed her home and was quite ready to return to it already; but this was interesting enough, she supposed, with all the new faces and smells and sights.
She chooses not to think about the fact that she will not be leaving with her two little brothers.

Rolayne was still complaining. He had no memory of this place, and he didn't want to be here. Everyone he knew was back at Moonspear; that was his home. This place smelled weird and he didn't know anyone here. His cousins would leave in a matter of days, along with the only mother he had known.

He was irritated, and snapped at the air when Maggak's nudge his hind end into a higher gear. She could be such an irritating turd sometimes. But, that didn't mean he didn't want her near. He wanted them to stay or for all of them to go back together.

He was saddled up to Sialuk's side now, not wanting to be away from her. He was deeply close to his Dad, but right now he wasn't at risk of losing him. He knew the story of his real Mom, how she died after giving birth to him and his brother. He knew the songs would be for her. But, his mourning would start the moment Sialuk left. He looked up at her with big, sad yellow eyes.

he was quiet for the journey, lips sealed into a straight line. he wished with every step that they might never reach the shore, that they would turn around and go back home together. but no amount of wishing seemed to do any good. in the end they reached the coast, and no amount of dragging his feet prevented this.

anaa spoke, and while he listened, it was with a conflicted heart. how she could so easily lead them on this journey knowing that some would not return home with her...his brothers. yet acrux did not speak, only scowled.

his brothers may have been born here, but this was not where they belonged.

this place was foreign. this place smelled strange. this place was not home.

he decided then that he would not abandon his brothers here. he would find a way to get them back to the spear, one way or another.

Seal, out of all the wolves, was probably the most excited to see the wonders of the coastline. However, she kept these sentiments to herself. Her own positive energy felt too out of place among the grieving family… not to mention the contentious vibes she picked up from Maggak and Acrux.

Of course, she would be sad to leave Panuk and Rolayne in Moontide’s care, but Seal was older and understood why it must be this way.

The young girl did her best to act as a warm, steady presence for the rest of the pack and tried to balance acts of comfort with plenty of space. She fell into the background, like a familiar piece of furniture, but would become available for any wolf should they need her.
