attn @nanthala

Toula breathed in the cool, crisp air. it was different here than home, beautiful in its own way! she missed her desert, but appreciated too where she stood. Toula, near the edge of her camp, bent low to the altar of Khonsu. she thanked Him for their safe passage, and for His continued vigilance.
she left for Him an offering, and then took with her the skin of some desert beast to bring to one of the moon villages young. she hoped to forge here a deep and lasting relationship, and as a mother she thought of what would matter to her—and it was the care in which her own children might be received, the way in which they were looked upon. so, should she not seek to do the same?

There’d been whispers of royalty from far-off places, and Nantahala found herself intrigued by the conversations. She’d kept an eye on their camp, watching them with interest from afar, but didn’t dare approach them—until today. Tasks and other commitments had kept her away, but, today, she decided to prioritize meeting new faces and sharing words with them.

After drawing a fox fur around her shoulders and collecting an ermine fur in her jaws, she set off in the direction of their camp. As she arrived, she spotted a woman who was joined by attendants. She stopped in her tracks, taken aback by the woman’s beauty; there was an ethereal beauty to her, and she was unlike anyone she’d seen before. She was gorgeous. But, as intimidating as she may have been to some, Nantahala wasn’t deterred. She smiled sweetly, her tail wagging behind her, and greeted through a mouthful of fur:

Hi!!!

a young and vibrant girl found her, and Toula slowed to greet them. she recalled the words of @Kukutux and said warmly, it is good to see your face! with a bright smile. and it was—the girl was darling, with the loveliest pair of clear blue eyes Toula could remember. like the singing brooks of the waterways between these camps, cool and like the crystals hard to prize free from Muat-Riya’s deeper caverns.
it was then an attending fellahin introduced Toula and all of her many titles to the young girl. another stepped forward after, with the desert gift in tow. it would compliment the blond of her furs perfectly, and bring out her eyes further, Toula felt. a gift, for you—from my desert, Toula offered. she thought back to the crystals and knew she would provide this to the girl as well, before this trip ended.

Excitement hitched in her throat, and quickly, Nantahala replied, It is good to see your face, too!!

An attendant stepped forward, presenting Toula and all her various titles, and then another stepped forward to offer her the gift of a mountain lion’s fur. The craftsmanship was impeccable, and it was in pristine condition; it was unlike anything she’d ever seen before.

I have something for you, too, she said, not forgetting her manners as she placed the ermine’s fur at the woman’s feet. A fur from my home—I caught and prepared this myself for you.

it is very beautiful, and well made, moongirl, Toula hums, eyes bright and playful. her name had not been given in turn, but Toula did not need that from her. only her company! she takes the ermine furs and passes it to an attendant, who drapes it prettily around her neck.
what do you think? she asked, pulling a foreleg toward her chest demurely. next, she asked—though she already thought she knew the answer!, is this your first gathering, too?, in a gentle and curious voice.
