Totoka River Scouting

Wherever she and Figment decided to go next, Fennec knew that she wanted to leave the coast behind her. What would have been beautiful to about any other wolf was mostly a nightmare for her, but at least near the river the sand gave way to dirt. She'd followed it a ways, exploring her way north from where she and her brother had hunkered down for the night. She figured that maybe she could scavenge something to bring back for breakfast, though she knew if she was gone long he'd probably show up and ruin the surprise.

Call it a bit of a peace offering for being semi shitty company lately?

So far, nothing was showing up. She nosed the weeds near the edge and caught no trace of anything, though when she lifted her head, the wind brought the scent of another wolf. Fennec spun defensively and faced into it with her ears pinned back, but she didn't make any noise yet. She just stood there, listening, waiting to see who it was she'd stumbled on and where they were heading. They weren't familiar to her, but beyond that, she couldn't glean much information yet.
