But I'm open to anything, if you're still game." She smiled softly, giving her companion an out if she was too tired or simply no longer in the mood after that heavy conversation.

Whether or not her friend obliged her, Meerkat shifted around a little until she was more comfortable and then relaxed with a sigh. Her eyelids slowly closed and she drifted off almost right away, dreaming of her own children. She had never given much thought to them in the waking world and likely wouldn't remember when she woke, yet even in her sleep, Meerkat could see why motherhood appealed so much to Toad.
