All Welcome
hoping for @Akhtar! but other teachers welcome, too.

toula was a young girl devoted to the faith. with the rising of the sun each day, she attended her morning prayers with @Senmut with great joy to greet Ra. she learned from the pupil, but she also sought to learn from his master when she could. escorted by the fellahin was toula, who sought him out in the hour of her lessons.
she was minutes early, but toula was not a girl who would ever willingly be late to her studies. toula was a girl who adored her lessons, so perhaps this aided her in her punctuality.

The amiirad would be welcomed by a series of furs scattered about the living space, and Akhtar’s protesting shouts from deeper inside.

Out came a skuttling figure. Small, smaller than the Amiirad, skuttling away as fast as it’s legs could take it. The scorpion managed to escape the priest for now, hiding away deeper in Akashingo’s caverns, and the priest himself would lead a mad hunt to kill the beast later. As it was, he came out of the deeper rooms like a man possessed, eyes wide, before he stopped.

Ah! Toula, good morning! He said, plastering on a huge grin to greet the girl.

You are early! I was just about to put these away. Guiltily, he shoved the pelts away, intent on smacking his way through them later to discover if the hellish beast had anymore friends to skitter across his face as he prayed.

the fellahin moved in a protective ring around toula. a confused expression made its way to her features to hear the clamor, though worry was far from her heart. her life up until this point had been without danger, and so fear, too, was unknown to her; she only was confused as to what the commotion seemed to be. toula soon saw the reason, closer to the earth than even the fellahin thanks to her age, and gasped in awe to see the animal move.
she was now being taught of the minor gods, as well as the major. she seemed to most remember those linked to an animal, perhaps because toula adored animals, and she reverently turned to the disgruntled priest as he emerged. the fellahin peeled away from her, though kept close should danger emerge.
akhtar, good morning. it is good to see you, she started, smiling warmly, i hope you do not mind! i simply could not wait to hear your lessons today, hem, she admitted openly. and then, she asked in a quiet breath, do you believe Serket is among us this day? her mind filled with wonderment of the Gods and their power! Serket, as toula remembered, could be but an aspect of her favored goddess--Iset. and so, could it not be Iset,  watching over her?

Akhtar’s answer to that was a tittering, almost scared half laugh.

Perhaps she was a foretelling of your coming early, Princess. He demurred, turning to the young girl. An eager student, so young and unawares.

For a moment, his teeth ached to blind her from the tension between her elders, let her stay young and naive to it. The notion was waved away with a horror that struck his eyes for mere seconds.

Ah, I have more lessons for you, if you are willing to give them heed. He intoned with mock seriousness, making his voice as deep and rumbly as he could.

oh! she marveled, delighted at the thought, perhaps she was! akhtar was brilliant, she thought, to think of such. it was a reminder that the Gods were always watching. perhaps we could pray to Her today, she considered, watching the man to see if he might approve of such. he was wise to the ways of their Gods, and she trusted him to know best the right and the wrong of it.
as for his next words, toula drew her foreleg toward her chest, her own words entirely serious: akhtar, i shall always give your lessons heed. they are a treasure to me, and though her voice was soft, and light, it was somehow fierce in its speaking then. she would never have those she cared for thinking less of themselves; their words shared were jewels of wisdom she kept close to her heart. it was now she primly placed herself into a seat, nodding for him to go on whenever he was ready to begin.

She was precious, this child who stoked his ego so. He strode to a space across from her with a flip-curl of his feathery tail, resting his seat on the sandstone there with a smile.

Before I begin today, how about a story? He offered, though he knew that Toula would eat up his words either way.

Tell me, Toula, what do you know of the goddess called Sekhmet?

if it were possible, toula brightened even further. she was aflame from the joy she felt from inquiry alone. oh! yes, it would please me to hear one of your stories, toula admitted, unable to withhold the full brilliance of her girlish smile.
Sekhmet, she began, drawing in a tiny breath as she recited what she could then recall: She is a warrior Goddess. She is a protector of the pharaohs who might bring war, devastating things, wars, from her teachings. her young voice grew heavy in the speaking of it. but she continued, lifting her chin a little as she remembered to add, Sekhmet is one of the several forms of the eye of Ra. She is His daughter, she finished. Sekhmet. Iset. protectors all in their different ways, but women in which toula aspired to.
she peered at her teacher; she wondered if  she had missed anything. she remembered to sit tall, as @Senmut oft reminded her... even despite her desire to lean in and listen to the riveting story the hem surely had to share.
