She peered at Towhee as she signed, but even if she'd been able to glean any meaning from the gestures, she couldn't pick up enough finesse to them to even really note.  All she knew was that it was an odd way for the shape to be moving.

And then some jerk interrupted them anyway.  BAH! she squealed as Fig jumped on her.  He managed to catch a paw, but she rolled and pushed with her hindpaws, trying to knock him off so that she could jump on him.  That was the proper order of things after all.
Fenn is blind, and as she's older, will take all of her character insight from tone.  If you are ever uncomfortable with an assumption she makes, please let me know!
