Rosalyn looked at Erzulie with evident disgust upon her features, and she saw it mirrored in her wife's scornful look.  They were the better for it, then, if he saw nothing in the rank worth defending.  If he'd truly thought he was well suited, and cared about their path forward, he would never have let them dispose of him so easily.

She lifted her muzzle and howled, a cry that Erzulie would hopefully join on.  Together they had claimed control of the moors, and now, Raleska could return with the children in tow.  The news when she returned would be heartbreaking, but until then, Rosalyn could celebrate this victory.
