All Welcome
all tags for ref or to join! assuming a few are around <3 @Reno @Sadey @Gun @Lonesome Dove (@Indra III for ref!)

"i reckon it's time we pulled outta here. we can find a spot in the mountains, or go back east to that bypass."
colt hobbled around the small clearing. each day he grew stronger, but he was still unfit for hunting or fighting, and the lacerations to his throat had left his voice huskier than before.
it might be winter's-end before he was worth a shit again. "wherever. just time to fall back an' then go fer red."
colt sat heavily, leaning back against a snowy boulder with a hiss of pain.

The dusty figure eyed Briggs with a wary glint. There was no sugarcoating it, Colt was hurt bad. He didn’t look fit for travel, let alone trying to tough it out through winter. Reno wondered if it had been a mistake to take off from Amalia’s little family pack. He wondered if that might not suit them better than trying to make something for themselves.

Yer in bad shape, Briggs, he growled, voice strained with a small attempt to keep his tone down. Where in the mountains? What’r we gon do if we get snowed in there? We ain’t got numbers fer hunkerin’ down in the cold.

How long were they going to make little Red wait it out? Reno didn’t want to think of what might be happening to the young girl. She might have spunk but there was no telling what folks like that were capable of.

Sadey shifted and moved into the light. She had stayed away from Briggs, from Lonesome, and Reno. Preferring as always to heal a little on her own. Her fur was still ripped up, and her rib still smarted, she didn't think that would ever change. Those big bastards had done something to her innards.

The skin would grow back wrinkled and bare, no fur. She knew it. It had been too deep, too scarring. She was no longer a pristine little thing, not that it mattered. She always knew there would come a day when her good looks would end or she'd die, one of the two.

Valid points, but we do need to get away from this festering swamp. Doesn't do good for wounds.

Lonesome looked between the gang in front of her, sticking to the fringes. She didn’t know many of the faces besides those of Colt and Sadey, who she was still wary of, but the girl licked her nose all the same.

What if those guys told other people around them about you guys? She piped up after a second, tail stirring the ground up around her as she shifted uncomfortably in her seat.

It might not be safe to go back east. Oh dear Lonesome Dove, always looking to escape a circle of teeth. Her ears shifted and moved, one to the side, one slightly further back.

jump in anytime, bees! <3 @Reno @Sadey @Lonesome Dove, we could probably do another round or two max <3

"i'm gonna be right as rain, reno," colt drawled. "lonesome here got us fixed right up. an' we're takin' it easy till then."
sans the journey, of course.
his shrewd scarlet eyes flicked to the healer herself, and though he frowned, what she said was truthful enough. "we're gonna have to find somewhere off-close then, reno." his eyes went to the only other man. "can't be out here. i'm fit t'travel, yer just gonna have t'trust me. but the rest, well. no sense fer the rest of y'all to suffer any more out in the open."

At least Colt had some sense about him. He agreed that it was better to find somewhere close, somewhere they could get out of the open and into some security. Reno wouldn’t deny him that. He flicked a single ear back on his head and listened as Briggs addressed the others and their concerns.

If he wanted to move, they would move. They would heal and form a plan. Then, they would return for little Red and would take her back home with them. The more time they spent regaining their strength, the more time their targets had to bolster their numbers. If anything, Reno didn’t want to wait too long.

There’s some woods, he said, lifting his snout to the north. North, bit east of that… then west by the mountains. The trees would be coverage from the elements. They could find places to make dens. If they elected to scout the woodland to the west of them, Reno was positive they’d have a chance at caves near the mountain base.

Sadey stared at them both and shook her head. Then lets go, why we standing around jawing. Move your asses.

She shook her head at the two and turned towards the way that Reno had motioned. Mountains. Grand. Big ole places with lots of room to hide. Her side still hurt and she would be in more pain before they got here, but she'd rather be in pain and somewhere she knew she couldn't get her ass handed to her again, until she was healed. Those big bastards still pissed her off.

She was in no mood for arguements.
