she came near moontide's camp in the soft dusk light.

last time she had been here when the sun had not been high... her cheeks flushed! but she was not here for kissing @Rodyn — although she thought she might not outright shoo off such a thing either!

a shake of her head before she called warmly for the bear-faced hunter.

Rodyn heard the soft call and tilted an ear forward. He lay what he had been working on gently to the ground. The elk skins large and needing worked well.

He smiled upon sight and dipped his muzzle down. His own cheeks growing warm.

It is good to see your face. How are you?

A smile. Flash of teeth. Kindness in his gaze. And warmth.

i am good, better now.

there was something warm in her voice. teasing! yet she knew before they might have dared to have any pleasant moments, she ought to tell him the changes going on.

i have come to tell you i am going home — to moonglow. she paused only to catch her own breath. moongrove is too silent and...i do not know where panuk walks, but he will always have my love and support in anything he does.

yours too, she wanted to say but knew it was not required.

yet she looked to him now. wondering if she might find something unkind in him waiting for her at this change. she did not think so, but nor did she know! the uncertainty of it all ate away at her.

He listened. The titling way she spoke. The quiet tenor of joking in her voice. Her gaze alight with mischieviousness amd a little bit of trepidation.

So she would not continue with moongrove. He did not blame her this. Panuks scent had grown less and Rodyn worried. Bit his son would be okay.

Panuk will return or he won't. He is smart boy well man now and he has many loved ones wishing good tidings for him. And you were always happy in moonglow.

He smiled no judgement.

she must remind herself that this was surely not the first time the young man had walked.

he would be okay, he would be guided. the blood of the forest and the sea lived within him. for now she set aside her thoughts of him and looked to rodyn.

will you still visit me plenty? i can walk to you, too.

For quite some time. Rodyn had not known exactly where Panuk was and he still had no idea where Rolayne was. He considered this a failing of his own doings. He had been so caught up in his own grief, he had not been the present father he should have been. he also should have stepped down and allowed someone else to take up the mantle, but he had been unable to let the dream that Samani wanted die with her.

A soft laugh of delight escaped him, his eyes crinkling at the corners. Of course I will so much so you may get tired of me. There was a gentle tease to his voice, as well as blatant honesty that he had never been able to hide. He was not one that could lie. Or keep his truth from showing up on his face.

i believe that sounds like a challenge,

she dared to jest! yet she knew that he could not come see her all the time. that moontide would keep him — as it should she reminded herself.

but i will bring so many things to you that you might tired of me! i will bring words and i will bring trades. i would like to know moontide as you know moonglow.

her eyes shined with warmth, with hope.

she could have this, she told herself.

He laughed then, bright and happy. Perhaps it is if you would like to tr eat it as such. But then what is the prize if one of us wins? Though I think time enough with you is a good trade off.

He nodded. I would like that too. There are many places that are beautiful to show you. As well as beautiful things to trade and hunt.

Rodyn did not know what the future may hold anymore. And he was tired of trying to figure it out. He was going to try and live as best he could in the present moments. Because they were precious.

she understood now why one might marry him. she raised a paw as if she meant to swat at him, but only let it hang limply. a humored grin on her face.

then we will spend many days, trading and hunting together.

no matter what, she knew this would be true.
