Challenge
Sven finally felt ready to face the she wolf @Cygnet. He wasn't sure whether he could beat her or not. And there was a part of him that feared the unknown. But he faced it like he faced everything else. An overwhelming sense of upbeat optimism. Because what was the point of being sad or upset. And if you failed you simply got back up. Plain and simple.

He had informed both @Eivor and @Ujurak where he was going and what he was doing and then he marched towards the Swiftcurrent camp. He made sure to greet the leader @Akavir, because it was the polite thing to do. And he felt they had turned over a new leaf so to speak.

He dipped his head to the white girl and then waited with baited breath.

Tags for reference looking for Cygnet. Did you want to do dice rolls or how do you want to do this? HP: 30/30 or should we do 20/20 since they are young. And do eiter one carry a mercenary trade? Pretty sure Sven doesn't.

He can be a cameo!

Ujurak accompanied his brother as a show of support. He would be there whether it be win or lose. The stone prince was sure his brother would take everything in stride. After greeting Akavir, Ujurak would wait with his brother.

While waiting for Cygnet's arrival, Ujurak would bump his shoulder into his brother's. A relaxed grin upon his face. He only hoped to give his brother good vibes. This was for fun, after all. Winning and losing did not matter in the end.

Whenever the girl would appear Ujurak would leave Sven for the sidelines.

also cameo!

Cygnet had laid down the challenge and Sven was here to fulfill such—

—a nod of welcome was given to both youth who had come to their camp, and Akavir drifted off to the side, waiting for the pale girl to greet the man. Settling, he would be a spectator—Eivor having been asked prior by the stone wolf to act as a referee of sorts.

Whether competition in such an act would do well for the two packs that had only begun to bury their tension would remain to be seen.

I’m easy :) but I do love dice rolls! Wanna do HP of 20, and roll like a 1d5 each turn?

It was time to push the sleeves back, shake loose the tension from her shoulders, and come to reckon with the challenge she’d doled out in the earliest moments of the gathering. Her heart battered within her chest as she watched Sven approach, knowing he’d come to meet her in the spar.

She should have known such a public challenge might merit an audience- Ujurak and Akavir would vouch for fairness on each side. Cygnet had no intentions of playing dirty but the nerves that made her tremble lightly in anticipation threatened to take over and put her into the same mode of savagery that she’d once unleashed on Arric. This would be an exercise in strength in more ways than one.

Nevertheless, she brushed a bit of spittle from her mouth on her shoulder and greeted Sven with a welcoming chuff, moving forward to greet him muzzle to muzzle as she had with Sobeille.

Sure thing :) This should be fun. Sven 20/20 Cygnet 20/20, I rolled a 5 unless you want to start rolls on the next post. :)

Sven felt tension high in the back of his skull. It tightened and hurt. But he could do this. Even if he had never done this. He couldn't even think of any memory that he and his siblings had truly playfighted. Their sister had just always beat them all up.

Sven pressed his nose forward to hers as well. Grey eyes dancing merrily at her. You ready? Good Luck.

Then he backed up and began a slow circle. Grey gaze taking in the way she held herself, any weak spots. He saw none, though he didn't know really what he was looking for. But he did dart forward with a small growl. Used his paws to aim at her legs, knock her out and keep her down and out.

sweet :D I rolled a 3.
End of round 1:
Sven: 17
Cygnet: 15

With spectators gathered, she began to feel pressure building up. She had made this bed for herself- and now it was time to make a mess of the sheets. She chuffed her acceptance, and nodded. They would both need good luck; while she did her best to look confident, she could sense how their nerves rang out like church bells.

She circled with him, and perhaps caught up too much in how her “spar” had gone with Sobeille, she planned on changing direction to see if she could herd him the same way she had herded her first opponent- but it was at that moment that he rushed toward her, slinging his body weight low and knocking her crossing limbs out from under her.

With a thud she landed on her side. The wiry girl’s growl was accentuated by the impact, and she scrambled in the wake of the humiliation to snap at his hocks, hoping at least to drive him away so he couldn’t hold her down.

I rolled a 3 this time
End of round 2:
Sven: 17
Cygnet: 12

Sven tried to ignore the bodies that were pressing on the sides of their makeshift ring. But he did take a moment to meet his brothers eyes. He steeled his back from the support he saw there.

His paws made purchase and he was both surprised and exhilarated that he had gotten her down. Perhaps too much so, for her snap to make purchase at his hocks. He shoved forward rather than ripping away. Hoping to press her teeth back and cause her to break her hold.

I rolled a 2!
End of round 2
Sven: 15
Cygnet: 12

Jaws came closer, forcing her to relinquish her grab for his ankle, so she might protect her own face. He loomed over her now, with the high ground he’d gained and had kept giving him an advantage. She hissed through her teeth as his jaws dealt a punishing blow to the shoulder she bared to him.

She rolled to bring her feet beneath herself, but the Kvarsheim fighter was too close for her to simply shrug off. She made another quick snap for his shoulder in a bid for space, and did her best to try and scramble to an upright pose.

Another 3
End of round 3
Sven: 15
Cygnet: 9

Sven had gained some ground. He could use it to finish the fight. But part of him relished to make it last a little longer. Both for the practice and the sake of the girl in front of him. This was his first time sparring. So he was a bit sloppy no contest.

The snap on his skin, forced him to grunt and he shifted to regroup. Circle back around and this time come in from the side. Aiming a punishing blow if possible towards her ribs and underbelly.

another 2!
Sven: 13
Cygnet: 9

She managed to lift herself from the ground, but Sven spared her no more mercy than what was owed, considering she had called the challenge. Once more he dove low and snipped at her underside, and with the momentum of the battle favouring his first bold move, he was yet again able to push her to lose more ground.

Her teeth clicked in the air as she snapped, missing her mark as he reached his. With a squeal she felt the pinch of teeth at the tight skin of her flank, causing bruises to leap and form welts where he’d hit. She lifted her hind foot to fend him off- but a thump of her foot to his shoulder was all she could manage.

The rolls gods like repeating numbers 2
Sven: 13
Cygnet: 7

Sven was truly not trying to hurt her. It seemed he was getting luckier than he thought he would though. IF it was to be believed. She was trying and so was he and he felt they were both doing well.  He pressed her towards looser ground, and leapt back he did not want to lose his footing.

The thump of her foot to his shoulder, pushed him to the side and he jerked. Trying to balance himself as best he could. He soon got his footing under him, but whether this would cost him was as of yet unsure.

XD and the dice gods are LAUGHING at Cygnet right now, I got a 1!
Sven: 12
Cygnet: 7

A bit of space between them for a reset- good, she thought, because he'd been whooping her ass so far. Where had all of her nerve gone? When she had attacked Arric, and when she had had a playfight with Krisjtan...Where had that skill gone?

She realized, then, that she felt a bit of stage-fright. Her heart thundered; she was nervous.

She took a moment to try and settle her beating heart, and did nothing but return his shove, though with little effort. She focused on her heart, on her breathing, as she began to circle again.

Poor Cygnet. I rolled a 5
Sven: 12
Cygnet: 2

There was space. And he was learning to anticipate. But Cygnet had seemed to lose her fiery bluster. And he felt bad for it. Would he have cost her more than just a win in a spar. This would not continue to affect her. It was all in fun to learn right? Surely.

She shoved and he used the moment to tumble out, on the edge of his paws and then bounce back towards her. Aiming for her shoulder or her throat. Not to harm. He kept his teeth gentle, but to press her down. To finish this if he could.

*rofl* ANOTHER 1
Sven: 11
Cygnet: 2

Her breaths came in pants, drawing realization to ribs that ached, and perhaps to poor cardio conditioning. As tough as Cygnet thought she was, her identity and her reality did not match up; bravado did not equal skill. So when he came for her again, it wasn't luck that landed the blow- it was her own lack of preparedness, as well as his skill.

She hit the ground hard on her shoulder, curling up like a shrimp beneath the heavy paws that pressed her shoulder down, making it harder for her to breathe. Deep in her fur, his fangs kept her from being able to yank herself free. She could do nothing but kick out with her hind feet, and missed him time after time. She sent stones skittering toward bystanders- but save for one paw that grazed his shin, she could do nothing.

Her growl was faint. The whites of her eyes showed, and teeth were bared in a threat that was useless. She could only lie in wait- see if he backed off even the tiniest bit but at this point- a comeback was damn near impossible.

Sven: 11
Cygnet: -3

Sven was growing worried about the she wolf in front of him. She was panting freely and she no longer had the bluster and fight she had had at teh start. Had he done this all wrong? He was fearful that he had hurt her. He was only doing what Ujurak had said as if he were hunting. Was it too much?

He yipped at the catch to his shin, but he doubled down on his pressure then and reaffirmed his stance. Holding her there, but not hurting. No his goal now was just to let her give up in a way. Quietly offer her a way out of this spar. She had fought well. He was surprised himself that he had managed to come this far with less hits landing.
