perhaps you could build Akashingo a garden of its own, of your favorite blooms, Toula daydreamt aloud to Haizel as they moved about the exterior of Akashingo. the sun warmed her, and at present she embraced the heat. but the second she became too hot, a fellahin was near with a frond to cover her.
and another followed them with one, too, so that the workers could be in the shade as well if they wished! Toula provided all that she could for her subjects, and made sure the fellahin were also cared for, as never before. their own tastes of luxury to enjoy.
Toula paused, gently swiping her paw upon the earth. we might find a place that offers shade as well as sun, she peered back to the palace. it rose high above the ground, and it’s walls were a great source of shade through its shadows. but as the sun moved, light was offered to those shadowy places too.

Many of Haizel's favorite blooms were far too delicate to be moved to his new home, either through only seeing them in specific areas where certain things were met, such as a place that rained quite a lot having plants that needed the soil consistently wet in order to be their loveliest, or perhaps they needed very soft soil. Some of them were just plain too brittle to dig up and be brought, or they'd wilt when the sun grew too hot.

The giant on stilts followed his queen, fur bouncing with each happy step. He, too, felt the sun warm his back, its gentle rays filling him with excitement for the day ahead.

He stopped as she did, analyzing the palace and its shade. I would have to study the grounds more closely regardless of where the garden would be. The ground, the rain, the shade, the sun; it all has to work in harmony for a garden, and plants can be temperamental if it's not just right. Haizel would probably stick to local blooms that were hardened to the land, though a few choice medicinal purposes for whoever the resident healer was to use would be a nice addition. Everyone needed looked after. As well as everyone's favorite flowers, so they all could go sniff the petals that gave them the most joy when they had the chance. He'd have to ask around and ensure he got everything right.

Toula nodded, walking alongside him, saying of course, in understanding. she peered around them with bright eyes, thinking the land of the red sands would look all the more beautiful planted with flowers about it perimeter.
she was glad the Gods had brought her this man, who was perfect for the role. he was knowledgeable, too—Toula was happier still for this! how did you come to know so much of these plants, Sesh? did you learn this love from another, or is it all your own? she wondered aloud.
all she knew of herbs was from Tavina, but Tavina had no doubt first seen how taken she was by the beautiful herbs!

Haizel gave a slight hm? before answering, having briefly been lost in thought. I've always loved plants. Their beauty is incomparable to many other things, and their care and way of life are so different from our own and yet so... fascinating. I spent many of my younger days in a flower field, trying to learn their secrets and how they could exist just so... he trailed off, feeling a tug at his legs.

His gaze landed upon a patch of land just behind his queen, shaded now, but not for long. The doe-pelted man went forward, sniffing furiously for a moment, deep in thought. Was it? The ground under his paws felt rather moist, as if rain fell often enough to permit- small, green stalks had taken root, not yet letting themselves be identified. Yes, yes - He looked back towards the wall, walking alongside it. The same. His nose smelt the right kind of soil, rich and earthy.

Shaded from the sun? Yes- the man's tail wagged.

... perfectly. Look, here- see the ground? Feel it with your paws, sniff it. It's... perfect for flowers, at least the kind that grow here. Maybe a little dryer than I'd like, maybe missing a few things, but that can be fixed with water and some good dirt from somewhere else. What do you think?

she was enchanted by the flower-man! his passion was a good thing, as she saw it, and she was taken by it. their seasons were shorter than that of a wolfs own, but if nothing else this made the flowers all the more beautiful to Toula. all could take a note or two from the pretty things. they lived their lives to the fullest, regardless of their life span—revealing their true beauty to all. if that was all they had to offer, then they would!
but she and Haizel knew it was but a part of what they had to offer. Tavina, too. scents, sometimes the power to heal… even the power to kill—Toula, made aware of this thanks to necessity. she herself had no desire to practice those arts, only learn it for the sake of awareness.
he became distracted, and Toula stepped aside as he drew nearer, content to watch him investigate. he was so large! a beast of a wolf, really—it amused her to watch him bend low to the earth in his searching, such a strange sight for a man so tall! he requested her own nose, and Toula, always happy to put her own knowledge to the test, drifted nearer—even as a Mazoi did with her.
the earth here did have that fertile scent and feel to it. Toula hmm’d, nodding her head. indeed, she said, having in fact seen it for herself. where shall the dirt be collected from? she asked first—did he yet know?

He wasn't overly familiar with these particular lands, but ample places for dirt, he knew, were where many plants grew in harmony. There's this really pretty forest north from here that smells like it's got some dirt to spare, he smiled, not even questioning how he'd manage to get the dirt from the forest to this spot by the palace, but he'd figure it out. If anything, he'd dig some up and put it on a giant leaf, drag it back. Or even carry it in his mouth, bit by bit, though he didn't particularly like that idea.

he had a thought of a place, and Toula considered the thought. if that is so, the fellahin can surely assist you in bringing some here. they are both crafty and creative, in the ways they do things, she smiled at the thought, and again thought of the lavender girls own creativity—the one who was no longer among them, stolen away.
and as for the water! we can irrigate water from the serpents waters, perhaps, if he did not simply wish to rely on rainwater. it was a practice she had heard of from many a traveler… she supposed this could be done by the fellahin too, should they know how!

Friends? he thought out loud, his fluffy tail wagging slightly with the thought. He'd only met two wolves, and he wanted to meet all of the wolves. There were many that he could smell, both in the palace and around it, and his soft heart wanted to know all of their stories.

Stories were just as lovely as everything else about a wolf, second only to flowers and his wonderful queen.

I'd love to hear what they think of it! and what kind of flowers they'd want to be in it!
