As the leaves began to turn and the air grew cooler day by day, flocks of geese continued to fly past on their way south. Every time, Druid tasted purple. It was so strange, she couldn’t make any sense of it. For this reason, she didn’t mention it to anyone else. How could she describe the experience to someone else when she couldn’t quite grasp it herself?
But when she began tasting orange every time one of her brethren called, Druid decided she would tell her mother about it. Even if she couldn’t understand or help, it would be nice to talk to someone she loved about this peculiarity. Hopefully her dam could put her mind to rest, one way or another.
It was cloudy and cool as she searched for @Sequoia, traveling east from the rendezvous site, Dawnleaf sprawling ahead and beckoning her with burgeoning tones of gold.

She’s looking for Sequoia but doesn’t necessarily have to find her. Anyone’s welcome!

She'd been unsuccessful in finding Wylla. Everywhere she looked, the woman evaded her presence. Sequioa liked to think it was coincidence, but in the back of her mind, she had the nagging feeling that Wylla was avoiding her. Based on what Mahler had said, that seemed like a good explanation. With a sigh, she had given up her search, figuring she would let Wylla come to her if and when she was ready. And if that day never came? Well, Sequoia wasn't sure what she was supposed to do about that. Living under the leadership (a future concept, but one Mahler appeared to favor) of somebody she couldn't speak to seemed... silly, to say the least.
The piebald mother stretched out in the cool air beneath the lazily rolling clouds. She spotted Druid heading toward her, and Sequoia invited her over with a soft woof.

She found Sequoia lounging, fallen leaves scattered here and there about her. Druid’s lips curved into a smile as she meandered over toward her mother, halting a few feet away from her. Her hind feet remained planted as her spine bowed and she reached toward Sequoia, which resulted in Druid stretching out to her full length before flopping to her belly in the grass, facing the Zweite.
Hi, mama,the pup greeted affectionately.
I was looking for you because I want to ask you a question. As she spoke, her expression clouded a little, a tiny furrow appearing on her youthful brow.
Did you know some colors have a taste?she asked, driving right at the heart of the matter on her mind.
