Seaside Moors desert shadows creep across purple sands

Solaire tried to join in at first, but dropped off.  Rosalyn inched closer and gave an encouraging nod.  If she could, she should join.

After a short bit, though, she trailed off.  I wish I could remember the words.  But maybe one day we can make new ones. she said.  

Do you have any songs to teach me? she asked, tone amused because she guessed the answer would be no.  It was too tempting, though, after her hum, to goad her daughter into trying her voice.
