good job @ me i forgot the tag @Fennec
Her entry into the pack had been on the basis of her hunting skills, so Astrid has assumed that as her mantle for now. She's confident her other skills will come to light when the need arises, and then she will establish herself as a guardian and infiltrator. For now, she's content to hone her hunting skill; while it is one of her strengths, it has never been a focus until her acceptance into Firefly Glen.
She's already caught something, a bird she can't identify lingering near a creek in the morning chill — normally she would call it a day and find another way to entertain herself, but none of her packmates have caught her interest yet aside from Bronco, so she decides to continue the hunt after depositing the kill in a cache. She'll save her plans for Bronco for later — for now, the most productive thing she can do is work toward earning the trust and respect of Osiris and the pack.

Fennec was also on her way to drum up some lunch pre-herb scouting when she crossed Astrid's path.  She'd snagged herself a stoat and was about to carry it to her partial den when she stopped and her ears twisted at the sound of a wolf's passage nearby.

She couldn't tell yet if it was someone she knew or not.  Eventually, in time, she'd learn their gait and narrow it down some.  Right now she had to call out.  Fennec hesitated, teetering between the decision to be social and the decision to go enjoy her meal.  Finally she dropped the kill and let out a loud greeting.  Hey!  You in a hurry?  Maybe she could kill two birds with one stone... an eat and greet sounded perfect.

The greeting stops her in her tracks, and she turns to greet the stranger with a low chuff. A small girl, with big ears and milky blind eyes. A smile curves across Astrid's face, a leering and predatory expression untamed by caution now that she knows she cannot be seen. Interesting. She approaches slowly, deliberately, allowing her footsteps to fall more heavily than usual to avoid startling her blind packmate. If allowed close enough, she starts to sniff the sandy youth with careful movements, deciding in the next moment that she is as beautiful as the boy who'd met her at the borders, Bronco. Whether she will take to Astrid's silence as well as he had is another matter entirely, however.

Fennec guessed that the chuff was a 'no' as the other wolf turned and (deliberately) walked back towards her.  She listened a little curiously to he heavy cadence of her step.  Either this wolf was not delicate at all or they had immediately noticed Fennec was blind.  Not for the first time, Fennec wondered if it was really that fucking obvious.  She'd asked a few times, but no one ever actually answered her.  Did they think she'd be offended?

Take it that's a no.  Alright.  Her ears turned back a bit as the other wolf remained silent, but came in close.  Even with the steps, the stranger's proximity made her cagey.  They hadn't spoken yet so she couldn't judge their intent and she didn't know them, so having a relatively unannounced sniff was bound to make her uncomfortable.  At least she could tell now that they were, in fact, a packmate.

I was just going to eat this, and wondered if you'd eaten?  I'm trying to get to know some of the pack.  She figured she didn't have to spell out what 'this' was since she'd dropped it right at her feet.  Unless this wolf was blind too?

this is the tiniest post im sorry LOL
She steps away as the girl's ears tilt back, studying her as she speaks. Her gaze is drawn between the stoat and her packmate, finally settling on the latter as her speech halts. She chuffs her agreement, settling herself on the ground with the same deliberately noisy movements. Eventually the girl will figure it out. Or not.

Another chuff.  Brilliant.  Either this girl was an idiot or... she couldn't talk.  Or didn't want to?  If she was messing with her, Fennec would be both annoyed and impressed, but for now she was mostly the former.

If you don't have more than that to give, then no offense, but you suck for company.  Fennec responded drily.  A name?  Anything?  Fennec wasn't all that pressed by quiet wolves.  She didn't much like small talk and thought getting to know strangers was pretty pointless outside of some interesting fun to be had prodding them.  But she did listen carefully, waiting for any sign of a crack that would indicate withheld laughter.

After a while, she decided to cut her losses and ducked out on the other woman.  Her presence put her off for some reason... the lack of words meaning that the woman could likely judge her freely, but Fennec wasn't able to do the same.  The balance was weighted far too out of her favor for comfort.
