@Coelho

The spots left empty after Seabreeze's & co's departure had been quickly filled by new recruits. Rueger she had met already, Pyro was not that much of a recent addition to the ranks, but he was always away scouting and therefore just as new, there was someone, whose name had escaped Wraen, but who Hyacinth had brought to them and was taking care of now. And then there was Malice - an older and experienced lady, so Wraen had heard and so much she had been able to tell from glimpses from afar.

Due to a muscle strain in her shoulders, Wraen was home-bound for the day, but, since she was not used to doing nothing, she decided that this would be as good time as any to get to know the particular lady. The pack mainly consisted of very young individuals (herself included), therefore having a conversation with someone, who had seen more of the world, was something she looked forward very much. But after a long trek along the borders she had had no luck in locating the lady in question. And since Wraen was pretty tired by then, she turned and went back inside the depths of Sunspire.

An entertainment would be in place. Or rest, if nothing came up.

LIKE THREE WEEKS LATER. I AM THE worst. SORRY

coelho hadn't fared much better than wraen in finding the wolf she was looking for; after a few laps around the boundaries, coelho gave up her pursuit of pyro - he was likely off hunting somewhere, and well, she was lazy when it came to her own directives.

without having someone like rannoch to give her purpose, coelho was a lump. it was a good thing that the residents of sunspire had seen fit to give her a job, otherwise she'd just have loafed around all day without purpose or direction.

she was coming back from the borders when she caught the fresh tracks of wraen; curious what the leader was doing, coelho fell in step behind her with a bright and sunny smile. "hey wraen." she chimed, a wag of her tail given: "hard to believe summer's done with us, huh?"

You saved a lonely thread from the oblivion. That is something to take a credit for, no matter, how long it took to do it. :)

Entertainment it would be - the little I-am-not-a-coyote Coelho was coming her way and Wraen's expression broke into a happy smile. Despite their rather disastrous first meeting, when you got to know the little wolf, she really got to you. A little walking ray of sunshine. And having someone uncomplicated and easy to deal with was something she had been looking for.

"Using a very old and worn expression - time flies, doesn't it?" Wraen replied. "What have you been up to lately?" she asked.

time flies indeed; coelho considered wraen's words with a pause - for a moment it looked as if the cheeriness in her gaze would falter, but then it was right back up again, bright as ever. "it does. or at least, summer flies and winter drags its heels." she grinned, feeling glad she had come across wraen -- the two had not interacted much, more coelho's fault than anything as coelho had been gone scouting with pyro and maia. it didn't leave much time to solidify bonds with her packmates, and for that she felt guilty.

"i've been scouting mostly. maia and i are going to scout later this week and see if we can find anything. hard to believe we're done with this tough old rock. what do you think?"

"That is amazing," Wraen remarked, when she heard that Coelho had gone scouting together with Maia. Come to think of it - both of them had matching personalities, the only difference being the size and the fact that her younger had more self confidence to boast with than the little coy-wolf. But maybe this would change in time.

"Yeah... I sort of hoped that this would become a home for many generations of wolves," she replied, looking around and knowing that she would miss this place dearly, once they move. On the other hand - at that moment she did not know yet that she would stay behind and call Sunspire her home for a while longer than the rest of the pack wolves. "But life is, what it is. If the new place can sustain a great number of wolves for longer, then moving is a very rational choice. Have you explored much of this area, while you have been around?"

coelho allowed a moment of introspection; a glimmer of something darker than her normal sunniness seemed to flicker across her face and then it too, like a storm, passed. she didn't have much use or time for negavitiy - and a smile re-bloomed where doubt had been moments before.

maybe like the changing seasons, sunspire would be habitable again. coelho would miss some parts of it, but she had not been here as long as some others, and knew to some pack wolves it was more than just an imposing hunk of stone: it was home. she was wondering if wraen felt any deep attachment to it, but if she did, other than a little sentimental nuance to her words, she did not seem distraught. wraen seemed more practical than most anyway - and that was a trait that was more boon than curse.

"maybe it will be a home again in the future. but sometimes we have to move even if we don't want to anyway. the mountain will always be here, maybe it could be a heritage sight for the children.." she murmured, already imagining that their future broods would race to the top and play roughly along the rocks. "i've explored a bit - but i seem to know what's out of sunspire better than what's in."

"I feel the same way," Wraen nodded, "Hunting outside the territories takes so much of my time that I haven't even had a chance to sniff out this place inch for inch. I recall Terance telling me that he and some others discovered an oasis or something like that in the area. And I have never really been there either."

Silly, really. Knowing areas around your home better than, what skeletons were hidden in the closets and what monsters were hiding inside the basement of your own home. "Do you know, where it is located?"

coelho was relieved she did not earn wraen's judgment for her lack of education of their home; it appeared the two of them were in like company, having both spent more time out than in. she supposed, in a way, that was her mark of duty - she might not be present in the pack day in and out, but she was still doing something for the pack to ensure their survival.

that was enough to keep her going, anyway.

the mention of an oasis was news to her - she perked her ears and looked fastiduously upon wraen in interest. "no! but -- we could look for it if you want.. that sounds nice; and i do really love swimming."

"It's a plan then. I like it," Wraen happily agreed and was about to lead the way as she was used to on many occasions, when she realized that - wait - I do not really know, where it is located. She shifted from one paw to the other in a confused silence, until she decided that - what the hell - they should simply go and hope that they run accross the place by accident. If they did not, they could entertain themselves with something else.

"Would not have guessed that you are a keen swimmer," she started the conversation as they made their way through the forest at the foot of the Sunspire. "Who taught you, how to do it?"
