stag was somewhat confused; mahler had only meant to indicate the river.  yet a chuckle reverberated in his throat, pleased by the boy's confidence to rib him back a bit. "cheeky!" he exclaimed to the child, but brushed his muzzle down toward stag's eartips with a masculine show of affection.
"i like vindholme for a river," he commented, glancing in amusement to melkor.
