Limit Two
Takes place at dusk on 5/26. Only two others please. :)

With great care, Phox tracked Niamh’s scent to the beach, but it went cold there. He went left, then right, finding no traces of her scent for miles in either direction. He had seen the island all day, but the water had been too deep. While Phox knew how to swim, he’d never consider himself capable of going that far and surviving. So he waited it out, scouting out everywhere nearby to make sure he hadn’t missed anything.

And when the sea curled back in on itself and gave way to the sand bar, Phox tentatively made his way to the island, coming upon their shores covered in sea salt and sand. He looked every bit as ragged as he felt when the thick scent of pack hit his nostrils. He didn’t notice any prominent scent of Niamh, but this was the closest he was going to get. Maybe they would have a lead on her whereabouts.

The islander reflected on the many changes which had occured in his home in such a short span of time... Moonspear had been struck and caused a great landslide. Hua stepped down from her placement as Empress. Mal's pack had disband and arrived on Yuelong's doorstep. A few more new faces had arrived he had found happiness with Kukutux. And then of course was when a pregnant and broken woman came to their doorstep, hoping to start anew only to die before it could ever happen...

Aiolos now watched the supposed husband of that woman now, being unknown to him for the time being. The stranger had awaited the sandbar to be revealed and the red wolf awaited at the other end, to approach as Phox neared. Welcome to Yuelong. Friendly but with a hint of question as to why he had come.

It had been some time since Phox had been on the borders of a pack he did not know. Had it ever truly happened? He had been born in the caldera, roamed for a time, come back to find Towhee, and he had been with her and their extended family and friends ever since. Still, he knew the drill, as he'd been on the other side of this situation dozens, if not hundreds of times by now. Phox flattened his ears, lowered his tail, and licked his lips in deference.

Thank you, he said. My name is Phox Redhawk, and I'm looking for a blonde, golden-eyed wolf named Niamh. I followed her scent from our home the coast just that way, Phox said, gesturing back to the main shoreline. If she is here, I would like to see her. If she needs more time, I am a patient wolf and willing to wait. I just want to know that she and the children are safe.

The stranger came and as he did so he did with utmost respect. His ears and tail lowered, his tongue slipping from his lips in sign of submission as a stranger upon someone else's border. Aiolos own tail remained relaxed behind him instead of upward in dominant display. His ears were perked high with curiosity and head and body alert.

The man quickly began to explain his reasoning for coming, along with his name and the name of who was lost to him. Aiolos had known Niamh only by name though he had seen her for that brief time, blonde furred with bright golden eyes and very much pregnant.

Yes, she had come here although I'd not the pleasure to meet her directly. He didnt lie and yet, withheld information. The woman had come was adamant shouting wanting to leave her past behind, wanting to have a fresh start with her and her pups. Phox said and did seem at least for the moment, a patient man as said, but what if Niamh truly didnt want this wolf knowing where she and the pups were for whatever reason that may be? I've not seen her in a week... Not a lie, either. I believe she may have moved on. And she had, however unfortunately for Phox, to the afterlife.

So she was here. Or had been, at some point, though this wolf said he had not seen her in a week. Phox knew it was impossible to keep tabs on all those who lived within one's borders, but if there was any chance she was still here...

Do you mind if I take a look around? Phox asked. I'd welcome you to escort me, of course. Maybe one of your other packmates has seen her more recently.

If I knew of anyone in our ranks that could vouche for you, I'd allow you to to enjoy our home, He pauses, a grim expression moving over his features as he side glances behind to the whole of the island. However as a stranger and with pups on the way you must understand we have to air on precaution. He wasn't even from an allied pack, for that matter, with nothing but the man's word that he would not try to do them any harm.

Pausing for a moment longer and with a 'hrmmm' of thought on his lips, he then found a middle ground. I can accompany you around the outskirts of the beach if you'd like. Along the beach, scenting her would be no easy feat. A week later and with the water and sands washing at any scent of her... Whatever bit of mark the woman made on these lands before passing would be gone now, savor the very pups tucked and snuggled safely away.

He didn’t know it to be true, but Phox felt like he was being had. He couldn’t prove it, and maybe it was just his mind playing tricks on him. He liked to think that he would have allowed such a request, but the truth was, he didn’t know. The outskirts wouldn’t be enough for him, he knew, and it wouldn’t satisfy the itch he felt to find Niamh and the children.

No, that’s okay. I’ll keep searching back on the mainland. If she comes back, can you send word to the caldera? To get to us, follow the river upstream, take the right fork, and we’re just beyond the forest south of the lake. It would mean the world to my family and me.

Aiolos was curious to ask more of the man, specifically if she were Niamh's mate or at leas the father of the children Maegi now cared for. He would only be left to guess, as he didnt want to seem suspicious after all.

The leader would only be left to nod, taking in the man's direction to heart. After all, if it was decided by Maegi and Mou (as they were the caretakers of the pups now and had known Niamh personally) that this man should be made aware of what happen, Aiolos wanted to know where to send a scout to if needed. In Aiolos personal opinion, it was not his call to make.

I think I've been to that lake before. His thoughts were slightly off though, thinking he meant the forest under the Greatwater Lake, which Aiolos knew of, having previously lived in Northstar Vale.

I will. He then agrees, dipping his creamy muzzle to the back as a notion of farewell.
