Wylla was primed to expect dissent and suspicion, so rare was it for her to get on well with those of the same sex. Nevertheless, Star's gratitude settled a kind of uncomfortable silence between them where Wylla struggled to come to terms with doing something she felt was right, and being thanked for it.
