Bearclaw Valley tamerlane

the bull with a thousand fangs in his hide, bellowing and streaming blood;
it filled the air, mingling like red dust with the reek of the animal's terror;
the beast staggering as avicus ripped into the foreleg;
merrick threw his weight behind its shoulder; he lacked the heavy cutting jaws of a larger beast, but struck into the juncture of leg to neck all the same, whittling away merrily as flesh serrated and blood splashed his face in thick droplets.
