Mm, she hummed, still stroking a paw along his chiseled brow, tucking a disheveled tuft of fur near his temple. She caught his eye then, the look on her face answer enough.

When he told her how he felt in turn, his voice a sleepy but sincere burr, Meerkat’s heart skipped a beat. She leaned in to nuzzle their noses together, then licked that soft patch of skin on his upper lip. His whiskers tickled her tongue. She angled her snout slightly to press a smile to his cheek, breath warm as she finished the song.
