All Welcome
beneath the cover of a misted night, merrick stole over the borders of lost creek hollow and disappeared into the night, heading for the place of his birth.
indra was gone. tadec was gone. he had stirred with a great restlessness alongside @Nunataq, and looked quietly at her before nosing her once and departing. she was free to come, but merrick wanted to be away from the hollow and everything it represented.
and so he traveled, coming to the stale, familiar borders at daybreak. gingerly he circled, not wanting to enter. he had grown old enough to know that in the world there were greater threats than other wolves, and the stench of bear hung here.
thus he did not answer, only stared into the snowy valley with wistfulness breaking in his heart.

Though Nunataq had slowed down somewhat from her infinite-engine days of her early youths, she still was more active than other adults during her day. By the evening, when she had got in nice and warm and cozy next to Merrick, she fell asleep and hardly stirred until the next morning. Therefore her conscious mind hardly noticed her brother's stirring and moving around tonight, though some muffled growls and kicks did break through the dream-scape land and had been aimed at the realistic source.

It was curious though that she did wake up half an hour later after Merrick's departure and not finding him, where he should have been, and feeling slightly cheated by him ('cause, why on Earth would he leave her behind, when he set out on adventures?), brushed sleep away from her eyes and mind and set out to find him.

She was not too surprised to find him at Bearclaw valley - she frequented their old hunting and living grounds often, and went straight to him. A greeting "whuff" was aimed in his directions just a brief moment before he got his ears nibbled affectionately as well. Nunataq followed Merrick's gaze, wondering, if there was anything worth looking at, and then back at her brother with the same question written across her features. What's up?

With Kavik and Soltero reigning as leaders of Swiftcurrent alongside him, the Mayfair felt the release of suffocation from his very chest. His short howl had informed his wolves he would return—he was going to scout the nearby territories.

The tension of his coiled muscles remained, the hefty wolf moving like a dark panther as he took in the surrounding land, realizing now how very little he had taken the time to familiarize himself with it. At the very back of his mind was Durnehviir—she had grown up in these lands, and he wondered quietly what it would have been like to explore the valley together—if they had been able to make their mates hip work. He could have requested Aria—but she also seemed to be avoiding him.

The season was upon them once more, and Constantine could feel it like a dark itch. None had come into their heat yet within the creek, and the wolf was uncertain what would happen under the circumstances—particularly if his ex-mate or his best friend would.

The idea of anyone else being with either of them caused his blood to boil and his jaw to tighten.

Thankfully, distraction came in the form of two youthful looking wolves. His nose quivered at the thick scent of bear, and the shadowstalker prowled forward, his instincts alert to the potential danger. As he closed the distance between himself and the youths, he refrained from curling his lip, his tail arcing through the air. “Hey. You guys okay?”

ty for joining! sorry he is an ass

merrick would have entered alone, had not the trudge of his sister touched his ears. tail swaying, he nudged her shoulder, breathing in her familiar scent. an expression of apology entered merrick's eyes. he had not meant to leave her behind; he had only wanted to get out of the suffocating clutch of the hollow.
they were not alone for long, however; a tall male materialized from the lightening air, cloaked in sable tones and wearing a pair of burning eyes. he spoke to them, and merrick felt his innate mistrust sharpen.
"we're fine. we were born here." go away, was the undertone here; the boy glanced to his sister, deferring to her age in this situation. perhaps she would know what to do.

Nunataq smiled at Merrick with genuine sincerity that was reserved for him only. Underneath the thick and spicy jalapeno shell there was a that part of her soul, who understood affection and loved just the same as anyone else.

She looked around the area then, wondering, which direction he had had in mind and would she be able convince him to come with her an revisit some of her. The bear scent did not presently bother her much, because she had never run into problems with any of those four-legged beasts, and therefore did not consider them worth her concern.

However someone else, more grown up and experienced than the two youths, was worried and funnily enough this was the first thing Nunataq noticed about the stranger, when he approached the two siblings and talked to them. While Merrick was not inclined to establish contact, his sister was in a diplomatic mood today. She gave him a reassuring look, then went past to greet and get to know the other fellow in a friendly and polite manner of a home-owner, who has invited an unknown guest in their garden.

last for me just to wrap this up <3

his sister was more inclined to extend a token of welcoming to the newcomer. merrick watched with wariness and distaste as she approached the sable male. but when he had ascertained there was no true threat, the boy turned and padded quietly into the valley, leaving the stranger behind and intending to wait for nunataq behind the lip of a ridge.

The fellow did not seem to be interested in having a further contact and with Merrick's eagerness to get away from the unwanted company, Nunataq withdrew and followed her brother. Moments later the stranger would be all forgotten and the two youths would spend many happy hours playing and ghost-hunting in their now empty former home.
