Tierra laid there and drifted. Too many people thought they were more than what they were, she thought. He'd told her he was a star, but she knew he wasn't. Stars weren't something she could sit beside or talk to.

It'd be lonely to be a star. She replied without any segue, and the words lengthened together a bit beneath the heaviness of her tongue. She wasn't sure she could move if she wanted. It felt as if she were suspended within water, or within the honey they'd eaten before.

"the loneliness is easily kept at bay when you have all that you desire. rooms. halls. trees of ebonwood and logs of myrrh. store-rooms of meat and flowing drink through every season."
his own limbs felt leaden with a velveteen, welcome weight; skin waking beneath the pale fur.
"are you lonely?"

Tierra laughed at his question. It tickled through her, providing a small jolt against the heaviness that seemed to be pressing her into the furs. She rolled to the side and was surprised to find him looking at her.

Never. She didn't think she was. She didn't have any of what he had but that didn't sound like company. It sounded cold.

Rooms are lonely. So is eating alone. I never do that. She didn't necessarily even connect these statements with him, with his servants and his halls full of guests. She pressed her muzzle into the furs and stretched, enjoying the way her legs seemed to warp like liquid.

he too luxuriated against the pelts for a moment, grateful to those who had prepared his rooms with such finery.
they gazed at one another. in time, and with a hesitance he might not have otherwise employed, pharaoh raised a paw to brush her elbow lightly and once.
"you have a rank in mereo. you are skilled. you are ready to conquer, to have precious things but only for a time before you move to something more interesting."
he exhaled his breath and shut his eyes, the room now caught in a near unbearable writhe.

She was too heavy to care how familiar he was. She'd forgotten that she was supposed to be angry with him. This feeling wasn't supposed to coexist with angry.

Everything eventually gets boring. That wasn't true. She didn't remember why, but for some reason, she knew that wasn't true.

She giggled again, reaching out and pressing a paw against his chest. It feels like we're water. D'you feel it? But when she pressed her paw, he felt warm and solid. Maybe she was the water.

he smiled. "only if we allow it." the soldier had reached to touch him now. "yes," pharaoh said, and he covered her paw with his own. the pads of their feet scraped deliciously; the sensation was increased fourfold.
"we are swimming in an ocean of our own creation," he said breathlessly. "imagine fish around you, moving in all colors."

She could see it. The room had already been swirling on the outer edges, fogged and distant when she was looking at him. Now she saw it more vividly.

The light was rippling and twisting around them. Maybe she couldn't see the fish, but she could see the colors. And she could definitely feel them. She closed her eyes. They're swimming through me. It tingled down her spine.

she shut her eyes and he realized he had watched the hardness ebb from tierra over this last swathe of time.
another peak for him; he spun and laughed, a low, sighing sound. he felt melted against her, lazuli eyes filled with her closeness, and very softly ramesses reached toward her again, seeking the sweetness left behind by the honey.

With her eyes closed she felt him reach out. Time had ceased to exist. She wasn't even sure her body existed, but his nearness felt nice. It reminded her of something comforting, something that grew. For a moment he combined with someone else.

She wanted to be closer. Tierra let herself flow into the space next to him.

there it was: the yielding.
it was the gods' own irony that ramesses should be so inebriated as to not notice he had gotten what he wished. he was enamoured with each touch, the overwhelming pleasure of it, how the contact seemed to delve into her heartbeat, her breath.
he wound her into his embrace, sure that if he paused he would lose the thrumming golden line connecting them now.
and so pharaoh listened with every fibre of him, approaching a proceed but ready to draw aside at a moment's resistance.

She hadn't forgotten Sybol entirely. With the poppy overwhelming her completely, he and Ramsess had become the same.

She was outside of herself, drowning, lost completely in the colors that swirled within her mind and within his touch.

Her boundaries were completely destroyed. She'd go without resistance to wherever he led her.

up to u if she's still there or not! <3

because he came to her as a man and not a god, tierra was spared the self-praise and satisfaction that accompanied ramesses in his usual chamber manners.
it was as if the draught had unmade him.
she would find him by turns gentle and then firm, wary then knowing.
his throne room was open; it was likely that they were seen if anyone should stumble upon them while seeking audience with pharaoh.
but only one soul had the right to recall the royal man
hours passed before he woke, in his senses once more, still sprawled across the couch.
his lazuli eyes searched for her with a slow shift.

It was like nothing she'd ever experienced.  It wasn't fair to compare it with the last time.  The drugs and Ramesses' experience combined to completely overwhelm her.

Despite the weight that seemed to have settled in her Tierra did not leave everything to him.  If anyone came she wouldn't have known.  They were the only two that existed.

At some point the poppies finally tightened their hold and she passed out dreamlessly.  When he woke up she would still be sleeping, draped over the furs next to him with one paw dangling off.

fade! <3

when he woke, tierra was asleep. ramesses straightened with a pleasant air; he directed the fellahin not to wake the soldier, but to be available when she awoke.
pharaoh himself was gone thereafter, pleased on this second day of auspice and returned to his celebrations.
