Otter Creek Do unto others

Wraen had seen the distant glimmer of the Greatwater lake from the tallest cliffs of the Moonspear, but had never wandered that far to see the place for herself. For a while it seemed more proper to admire it from the distance and imagine that this was the place, where merefolk resided, and the mental image had been so beautiful that in fear of spoiling it by seeing things for what they were, she forbade herself to wander that far.

Now things had changed, she had less time for fairy tales and had to dedicate more time for her chosen trade. With a newfound determination and within a short span of time she had explored and mapped quite a big area that surrounded Moonspear and it was high time she expanded that map.

The trip was longer than she had expected and, when she had reached the Blackfeather woods and spotted the blood and dried up and shrivelled body parts that were littering the pack's border, she had some doubts. Yet after carefully circling it around, the enthusiasm for the adventure returned. 

She reached the lake, however, something caught her attention and she changed her route slightly to approach a creek. From the distance she had noticed dark forms dashing around, and, when she came up close, she saw odd-looking creatures playing and swimming and diving in the ice cold water. Not wanting to scare them away by her presence, she lied down and watched them play from a safe distance. 

Only after a while she found out that she was not the only one observing the otters - there on the opposite bank was another hunter perched and ready to spring in action.
