The stranger had sensed Wraen's presence too, but either because she was hidden from his sight or her pelt matched well with greyish and brownish hues of the background, he did not act like someone, who had actually caught sight of the other. Therefore she was left with a choice of giving him space and heading back down, which did not seem like such a great idea now that she had climbed so high up. Or keep the chosen path and see, if the guy was reasonable enough to have for company.

Wraen carefully treaded closer to the wolf, until she was in plain sight, and greeted him with a neutral expression and few wags. "Good day to the other mountain-dweller. Are you heading up as well?" great job at stating the obvious, but you had to begin the conversation with something. And this was easier than coming up with a personal remark or a joke. 

She did not get a reply and not feeling very comfortable by the prospect of someone tailing her, turned around and went back to the fields at the foot of the mountains. She would climb up another time.
