Ocean's Breath Plateau whisper wind

Seal traveled west as her thoughts turned to Maggak and Acrux. Just after her arrival home, the siblings had bounced. They were too young to disperse, Seal thought… though she knew this to be untrue. For example, her sister Orca heeded the call of the wild at a young age, too.

But why would they leave before their coming-of-age ceremony? Seal wondered as she ruminated on the inconceivable notion, too tunnel-visioned and fixated on her ambitions to make space and entertain any other way of life.

Before she knew it, Seal could smell the sea.

Rodyn was more diligent with the borders of Moontide. His trust had been misplaced and as such he had to do something ditasteful. So it was with slight manic air he now worked the borders.

He didn't want anyone to take advantage of his goodwill and trust anymore. So it was with surprise he came across a younger wolf at his birders. She was recognizable he knew her as mon wilf. But she had grown and her name left him.

Ears forward yellow eyes on her face. She was so familiar it was right there.

A bear-like figure greeted the young woman and she instantly recognized him as Rolyane and Panuk’s Da.

“Hello Rodyn!” Seal greeted cheerfully, oblivious that he might have forgotten her name. “It’s been a while,” she added for good measure. “I just returned from training at Brecheliant and am doing rounds tae catch up on all that I’ve missed.”

She passed him a friendly smile and thought of all her friends at Moontide.

As soon as she spoke with her fathers slight lilt he knew who she was.

Hello Seal! Its good to see your face.

He tilted forward and spoke softly. Did you learn everything you wanted to know.

A shift of his wieght amd he settled to his haunches. You hear to stay for a bit?

“Everything an’ more!” Seal exclaimed as she feigned exasperation. “There’s just… so much knowledge. So many things tae learn… it’s almost overwhelming,” she said with a self-deprecating laugh. “Far more than I ever thought,” and that meant she would always be a student at heart.

“Just passing through,” she answered next. “I haven’t been tae Moontide for a long time, so I wanted tae catch the latest news. How have you all been? I miss Rolyane and Panuk!”

He listened rapt. Ears forward eyes on her pre ious gace. How young she had been and now. Now a growing lady. He would need to tell Njord he had seen her.

He chuckled. I am always learning new things too. I think its good to do so.

Rodyn smiled softly. They are good. Reserved boys. But good boys. Rolayne speaks more than Panuk, but I hope with time

“Do you think they remember me?” Seal asked Rodyn when she heard the good report. It seemed all of her relationships that were built in childhood had begun to grow apart… Seal quietly vowed to keep in touch better.

“How’re Raiyuk and the other seal hunters?” she asked next.

Rodyn smiled and dipped his muzzle down. I'm sure they do. They both have an uncanny ability to recall others. Rolayne went the whole way to Moonspear by himself at just a few months old. Trust me they will remember you.

Rodyn's face saddened. THey are good. Though we had some bad business with another who thinks it's okay to beat on women. Raiyuk is healing at Moonglow for the time being.

Seal’s expression beamed at the news of Rolyane and Panuk’s growth. It sounded like they were both capable lads and well on their way to becoming strong hunters and emissaries. She was happy for the small, coastal family. It sounded like they had all found their path despite Samani’s loss.

She hoped she would run into Panuk and Rolyane someday soon!

Yet Seal’s smile quickly faded when Rodyn’s next words were uttered.

Beat on women?! Seal, in her sheltered nativity, couldn’t conceive such violence. Plus, it sounded like Raiyuk had somehow gotten caught in the middle.

“What?” she gasped. “You must tell me more. What happened?”

Rodyn was extremely proud of his children. They were growing well and flourishing despite their hard start to life. Both their own characters.

Rodyn shifted. I am not aware of all the details. It was not I that was privy too the abuse. I was told by others. I sent an envoy to Moonwoman and Sunman with one other Peregrine came to help capture Cen. He did not go easily. And he attacked Raiyuk rather than the seasoned men. Shows you wha ta coward he is. He preys on women and younger wolves. He was taken to Moonglow and I have yet to hear of his verdict.

I think this thread happened before he was put on trial.

Rodyn’s harrowing account included a retelling of Cen’s apprehension at the united hands of Moontide and Moonglow. If anyone would bring such a vile wolf to justice, it would be Sunman and Moonwoman.

Her nostrils flared. “I ken they’ll see justice is served,” Seal declared. Hopefully, at the very least, he would be banished from the area…. hopefully far, far, away from the moon villages and the hinterlands.

“Is Raiyuk okay?” she asked in the next breath.

Rodyn nodded his head. I hope they seek the justice that is needed. No man should ever put his paws on a woman or a child. It's disgusting.

And it was. That was a hill Rodyn would die on. Truly. Honestly. Plainly.

He is well. Has a few bumps and brusies. But Moonwoman will heal him up just fine.

Seal breathed a sigh of relief when Rodyn expressed Raiyuk wasn’t injured severly. “Thank goodness,” she said.

“I cannae imagine a man ever doing such things…” Seal agreed, naive to how dark a mind could become and the evil machnications capable of such monsters.

She continued some small talk before continuing on her way…
