Wraen told, picturing the two (Fen was easier to imagine than Alyx, who she had not seen, since she had been an adolescent) there - one blind, the other - scary - running around and causing havoc and terror everywhere. There was a good story idea right there - it occurred - and she quickly noted it and put on a shelf to revisit it later. 

"What about Pippin?" she asked after Towhee mentioned that her eldest daughter's father lived there. "I mean, you were so sure that he was the father in the beginning. What made you change yuor mind?" she wondered, vaguely remembering her involvement there too, but not the specifics anymore. "I ran into him briefly months ago, when I was on the coast."
