Her joke made something deep inside his chest flinch, but he was so overwhelmed with their honeymooning that it felt easy to brush aside. A part of him was still paranoid that she'd find out, or that he would eventually have to tell her, that he had been with one other before her. He thought at first she was passively commenting on the fact that he somehow knew what to do with her- until he realized that she was actually commenting on his (lack of) experience playing hookie instead. And that much was true- he was usually very task-oriented, but presently...The only thing that he wanted to do was be with her. When she pressed against him he uttered a possessive growl, rubbing his chin along the top of her head and back down her shoulders. He smirked lightly, and uttered softly into her fur. "I'm learning,"

He didn't mind the fact that he hadn't been terribly productive. He could dedicate himself to patrolling the borders and hunting another day- but nothing could compel him to leave Fennec, not right now. He was almost entirely a different creature, as far as his daily tasks were concerned. Whenever the invitation was presented, as it was now, he was swift to respond. He was learning her signals, and following her cues- and learning as well how to nab her interest and lure her into yet another embrace. Youth had its advantages- and one of them was having energy.

It made him bolder than he usually was, so it was with confidence that he pulled her closer, and with a needy, throaty growl that he declared his intentions. They would indeed play hookie for another day- ignore their other responsibilities, but he was going to make sure they enjoyed it.
