he suspected @Thorn was up to the ways of a rogue, and while this neither bothered nor perturbed mahler, he did not want the danger of a fogged mind to bring harm to a diasporan. perhaps in that regard he was infantilizing the dark tessarius, but it would be some time before winter lifted. each wolf was important.
and so mahler followed the other's man's tracks down toward a familiar creek, and on a small rise above the packland, he inspected the air. swiftcurrent had grown, and while the gargoyle could not say he was pleased, there was amusement briefly flickering in the stone lilac of his eyes. women here, at least one in season. @Aria's light fragrance was there, entwined with @Constantine's heavier smell and the fierce perfume worn by @Durnehviir. 
it was no small wonder why thorn had traversed here, for swiftcurrent was a place of lovely things, although he could not have stayed there forever. for a moment, mahler stood as he was, watching, and from this distance he allowed the dragoness' scent to play about his senses, indulging as a man would for the first time.
