He had been gone, disappearing with a spring breeze. It had been a little over two weeks since his spring fling started, and as rapidly as that, had ended. He had seen "Lassie", like a shadow who had stolen his heart in one beat, following her to the edges and beyond. She was always there, but always one step out of reach. He was -- and had been -- head-over-heels, following her to the moon and back again. His bachelor's life shaken, stirred and started all over again. This Lassie-figure, this female with a booklet of instructions (as were all females) said it didn't work out. It never would. And so he was back again.

The young male had been given some insights about his current life. Like had he missed his pack or only his friends? Was it easy to take off again like that? Now that the pups (yikes) had arrived, he discovered that many breeding pairs and family alike were focused so much upon their own family, that he missed seeing their faces, fun and adventure. Was it a good fit? He wasn't sure. There was a lot his yearling mind couldn't grasp about family-oriented packs, starting pups. Maybe because he had walked alone for as long as he could remember. Maybe he was better off joining a bachelor pack, like a horse gang. Or maybe he wasn't ready to be a true "adult" yet with responsibilities.

He wasn't sure of anything yet. All he was certain off is that he wanted to see his friends, Rennie and Maia, have tales and adventures in the Super Duper Awesome Club. Or maybe just be a kid again.

Wraen had not worried much, when Epic had taken off and disappeared for few weeks. She had not wanted to see it, but had felt that the way of pack life was not a good fit for her young friend. But having another single, carefree friend around, when other people were settling down, having and raising children, had seemed more important than, what he really needed or wished to do.

Maia had probably been more bummed than her elder sister about him leaving. Both had had a crush on the whirlwind boy at the same time, without the other knowing. But over days and weeks that had passed and during which Wraen had had a better chance to get to know him, she had realized that he was a nice guy, a good friend - loyal, sweet and with that childish spark of amazement about the world - but that there was never going to be anything more between them.

She had been very honest to herself and realized that she was looking for a family man and Epic was not that guy. Therefore she had missed him as a good friend and cherished his absence that had allowed her to understand, where she stood in regards of him. And with an excitement of seeing a friend after and extended travel abroad, she caught the sight of him in the vicinity of Firebirds and went over to greet him. With a wagging tail and a kind smile: "Look, who's here!"
