All Welcome
Penn hadn't known what to expect the day he'd gone to the Copse to quit his job resign from their ranks. Not just in how the conversations would go, but in what would happen next. He hadn't really thought that far ahead because while he knew that being part of the Firebirds was making him unhappy, he didn't really know what--beyond not being part of the pack--would actually make him happy. The world had busted wide open for him in the moment he'd declared himself a lone wolf, and with Fenn's agreement to accompany him on the venture, he felt more confident and indestructable than ever.

Still. He had no idea what he was doing. And honestly? It was fucking great.

He and @Fennec had spent a good amount of time on the coast, wandering along the shoreline as far as it would take them (until they hit the edge of the map and turned around because I don't know what's past there). They'd spent the night before in a small copse (coincidentally enough) at the base of a flat-topped ridge--a ridge Penn was now trotting along and peering down the edge of while the sun rose at his back.

Fennec was taking to the road rather well, all things considered.  Sure, she'd had a good silent cry the first night after she realized she'd failed to say goodbye to her baby sister.  But no way was she owning up to that, and ever since coming to terms with that, things had been great.  Seagull chasing, Penn's dumb voice, all of it.

It was weird, still, and occasionally she woke up and forgot she wasn't with the Firebirds anymore. That first night she'd tossed caution to the wind and moved her sleeping spot to alongside Penn, and since, she'd made a habit of it (I assume he didn't protest ;)).  She got cold, duh.  It wasn't nerves.

When she woke up that morning, Penn was already gone, and she as usual listened carefully before stretching and getting to her feet.  Nothing around but a few birds, which meant dawn was here.  She could wait until Penn got back or she could go find something to drink herself, because damn she was parched!  He could've gotten distracted by any number of things, she figured, with an amused huff.  So she picked a direction and, noting it, began to walk.  She'd go a ways and listen... maybe she'd find a stream close by.

this can be a cameo if we want! Just need some up to date actionnnn
Fenn is blind, and as she's older, will take all of her character insight from tone.  If you are ever uncomfortable with an assumption she makes, please let me know!
