All Welcome
Kingslend is temporary relocating to Haunted Wood! This thread is not mandatory and will be used as reference. I’ll be archiving it next weekend.

attn: @Célnes, @Odessa, @Rohesia, @Calhoun, @Germanicus, @Corliss, @Brewster, and @Ken
(@Whitney, @Clarence, @Kiyoshi, @Kaori, @Toshi: I’m not sure if they’d be traveling with the group at the moment, but I’m tagging you guys just in case!)

The Déorwines have been through many trials and tribulations throughout the month. First the fire, then the flood (the irony made him chuckle from time to time). Now tensions were high within the group. They didn’t need to add onto the stress by constantly traveling from place to place.

Cenric would stay just ahead of the group to look for adequate places to camp, and he eventually found something. A dense forest; secluded and quiet. It wouldn’t be their home, but it’d be a decent place to rest. Cenric howled to let the group know of this location.

She was growing a headache to all the complains the Deorwine's kept givint to Célnes. Passive aggresiveness between tones was always a family-habit, between themselves, and especially to outsiders- and so far they were definitely directed at herself. However they couldn't have a much say, as she may have listened, she had no intention to follow what they want, because after all...

She was the King.

She, alongst with her brother Cenric were the ones leading to the new era, and changes would be made. She had grown a bit tired over the traditions overtaking the family, and making it more difficult to adapt to the new land, but of course, traditions held stubbornly onto the elken-wolves.

They needed others to ascend to a pack, they needed able-bodies like Germanicus, who proved to be loyal, and a new generation like Toshi, to spread their words. Despite the throbbing in her head, she remained with a pleasant persona of a perfect smile, as Cenric led them to the temporary household.

Since there was no sign of the High Elk's blessing, they had to move- and for now, this was a good base. It was definitely perculiar, with three different types of trees surrounded, but it was more preferrable then anything simply due to being a forest. She had grown tired of the mountains, and desired the flatlands of home..

But no High Elk..

Yet.

The followers of Kingslend were sent into a displeasured upheaval after Célnes' announcement about welcoming unholy into their group. Those wolves in particular, the pup and the man cloaked in black from before, carried unnaturally dark pelts that were to be avoided at all cost. Corliss grimaced in disgust at the thought of how many more wolves of damned origins her cousins would welcome into the new era, and how this might affect Kingslend's relationship towards the high elk.

In any case, they were still right. We will need as much help as we could get in order to create the foundations of their new home — and if that means gathering as many pawns as possible, there was no doubt that Corliss would assist by any means necessary.

At the sound of her cousin's distinctive howl, Corliss arrived quickly. Her elegant gait was steady yet unrushed to take in this unfamiliar scenery around her — something about its trees and erie stillness made the dame uneasy. "Is it here that we will be residing, Cenric?" she asked questionably, raising her head to sniff at the thick atmosphere.

The rose cygnet suppresses that tell-tale glower;
forgive me, she wisps in the entrances of her mind, in silent prayer that her god will hear her. This thrashing monster wrought and wrings her very insides, this fury, the claws and gnaws to burst and scream and leave the heathens she trails behind in tatters; tatters they should be.
she cannot bend over for her cousins' will forever-always, nor will she for anyone but her deity. No, she will rain flame and vehemence on the family once again, for she deems herself the herald of the holy (even though it's self-proclaimed act of lunacy); hymnal and eidolic (but it doesn't exist).

Carrying that familiar cadence of brooding, falsehood, eerie; they come upon a secluded weald, ah, for reprieve. Rohesia's kinsfolk all insist that The High Elk had yet to lead them to their new haven, new womb, but! All assured, the woman knows he rests within her, in those frostbitten veins.
"I will scour for herbs, then," she replies to no particular soul, weaving off between the oak trunks for something to substitute for her apothecary until their refuge is properly claimed.
Oh fishmonger, oh fishmonger
come quell your daughter's hunger!

The old woman would be left to trail slower then the rest to the back of the group. She is forced to stop from time to time due to a coughing fit she has obtained since the fires of their former home. And oh, she missed home so much!

Now, as Celnes pushed the group into a new era with a commanding paw, the old ways were forgotten and thus Odessa, made of everything 'old ways', was forgotten too. A perminant distasteful expression on her face, once she caught up with the group she silently followed after @Rohesia, surprisingly enough. By the Gods High Elk, even the basterd daughter thinks Celnes has lost her mind!

Keeping things really vague with this post until I'm all caught up. It can be assumed Chad has been traveling with Brewster. If this needs changed, lemme know!

Among this group of nomads, Chad was relieved that he was not the odd man out. Not that he ever cared what others thought of him in the first place. But his mood was soured for the very same reason. That his King, Célnes, had allowed outcasts into their fold. They did not bear the true colors favored by the High Elk. From up ont op his high pedestal, Chad looked down on them with disapproving frown.

They needed these wolves, though. Needed numbers and bodies to build their empire. So he bit his tongue and kept his distaste subtly disguised. Hanging by @Brewster's side as they traveled, he made it a point to position himself at towards the front of the group in an effort to keep the unworthy as far to the tail end as possible. He even carried himself with just a little more arrogance than usual, tail aloft, chin tilted.

Cenric led them to a forest, thick and heavily shaded. His howl guided them, prompting Chad to pick up the pace, making for his arrival a few moments later. Critically, his golden eyes swept through the forest. He knew this would not be their home. It would just be another stepping stone. He didn't like it, as was made clear by the sharp glint in his eye.

the followers of the great elk did not bother to hide the displeasure they had maintained since célnes had made an arrangement with the former whitebark wolves. it was not an ugly weald to which cenric led the elk-worshippers, but he could see the lack of approval despite this.

the eaglebound himself made note of the old woman and the mysterious younger, gone off into the woodland to forage. unless directed by célnes herself, he would not follow them. it was the woman he had met in the bracken woods who held his contract. and so he remained alongside her, keeping his eyes from the amber and mahogany and brownstone faces, their hard gazes and judgmental ways. he was but a lance to be wielded in service to the priestesss of the high elk.

inwardly, germanicus had developed his own resistance toward their refusal to accept him within their fold. had not cenric questioned his abilities in whitebark? it would one day be seen whether or not he could tolerate this for an extended time. "i will put a perimeter around us," he rumbled to the she-wolf and her brother, waiting to listen to any advice or admonishment before he cut away into the gnarled trees and their willowtrail companions.

Cal was slow to respond to the call, in fact, had it been Célnes he might have ignored it altogether. The hunter was still steaming from the gathering within the mountains. There was no excuse in his mind for the need of this..."guide" or the undignified ball of a boy that now ran rampant through their ranks. They would never be Deorwine, no matter what his Kings claimed. They had a guide, the High Elk, and to request the help of one so unqualified or worthy of their family was an insult.

Calhoun remained near the back, just within distance to catch what words he needed to hear from Cenric until his eyes landed on his sister. Her appearance at the gathering had been the first he'd seen of her since the fires, yet the first words she spoke to him were in an attempt to soil not just their name but his reputation as well. Perhaps that was why they had not spoken since. What a bitter thought, they were all they had now and she had been so determined to start off on the wrong foot that she would go against their ways.

It wasn't until the grey bastard spoke that a low rumble would stir within. He had no right to claim their land, his stench an insult amongst the blessed. Though, Cal would for once keep silent. He had no interest in addressing the outsider, in fact when he could he ignore his presence altogether. Finally, he would speak up determined to let his worth be known. As always I shall hunt for the family. He had chosen his words carefully however, as those who were not of their ways he would make sure caught their own meals.

They trickle in one by one, some choosing to head directly to the King, while others lurked near the perimeters. He nodded at everyone he saw, family or not. Their offerings brought a smile to his face. It’s nice to see everyone is willing to provide despite the recent quarrel.

Cenric did not address his cousin until everyone had gone off to do their tasks. Our residence here will be temporary. I will be starting my search for a more suitable home tomorrow morning. Today, I will rest. With that, the man disappears into the shadows.
