@Hydra
She was beginning to think that she should've joined a pack weeks ago. The long days of travel were beginning to wear her down. She was in a very weakened state, the outline of her ribs visible beneath her snowy pelt and her hipbones sharp. Hunting had not be a successful endeavor for several days now, forcing her to sustain herself with small game, but that was never enough. The shadows were growing rapidly as Uma stalked through the glen, her dark wet nose skimming the ground, whilst her head darted here and there, desperate for the smell of prey. The hunger was a constant ache felt throughout her entire body, her thoughts rarely drifitng away from it.

The shape of the other matched that of the near-trespasser of Moonspear, a wolf who Hydra pondered was sticking around and seeking their potential companion that had managed to trespass. And so Hydra followed them, keeping low to the earth and to the shadows the Glen afforded her. Her path had not yet managed to come upon the others scent trail, and so she could not yet identify that this was not, in fact, the wolf Hydra imagined it might be. The wind was not in the others favor, which Hydra had been mindful of—but neither was it in her own. She felt they (Moonspear) should be aware of the potential threat lurking, if this was that very wolf Hydra felt it could be.
Uma had killed two mice since entering the Glen. She was pleased to eat them, as something was better than nothing. Nightfall was well on its way; she could already spot the moon and a few of the brightest stars, shimmering in the dusky sky. Her hope was that nocturnal creatures would begin their prowling shortly, giving her more options, and more probability. She was upwind and did not detect the dark canine trailing her from within the deepest of the shadows. Her paws and limbs aching, Uma slowly sat down upon the earthen ground, heaving a great sigh as she did so.
After a moment the wind changed, bringing with it a most unsettling scent. There was another wolf nearby. She grew alert, her ears at full mast, her odd pink eyes squinting into the darkness. Another pair of eyes glowed eerily, causing Uma to rise upon all fours again, chuffing loudly before a low growl rumbled from within. "Show yourself!" she demanded, her tail swaying dangerously

But it was not Hydra's eyes the others detected from the brush, nor even her scent. There was a third wolf among them whom even Hydra had not noted, and she bristled as they broke through into the clearing, facing Uma once called upon. The creature looked skittish, rail-thin, and hungry. A thing best left in the shadows. For her own part, Hydra remained still. She was no hero, after all, not to a stranger in any case. And this stranger looked sickly... Hydra was far better than the other at remaining hidden, and did not move so much as a muscle. She even closed her eyes so they would not reflect the light as the others eyes had. The other wolf did nothing else but stand there and stare its unnerving stare. It didn't seem very intelligent.
The pair of eyes stared unsettlingly. The wolf -- an agouti male, by the looks of it -- glared from the shadows before presenting itself by stepping nearer. The hair along Uma's nape and spine stood on end. The other did not speak, but the rumbling growl which issued from his direction and the slow, creepy lift of his tail unnerved the pale woman even further. He lowered himself slightly and began to stalk forward with those eyes which displayed no intelligence narrowed.
Back off! Uma warned, her own tail rising and curling upwards. She took a step back, but there was no escaping the spindly male's attack, an attack which in her weakened state Uma was ill-equipped to defend herself against. An intermingling of snarls and squeals sliced the night air as he bore down upon her, knocking her off her feet.

She lowered herself in the shrubbery, remaining hidden. It was only when she heard movement that one eye opened, and she noted the male moving toward the thin Uma. Uma issued what was likely meant to be a command, but the other either did not understand it or did not care. And then they attacked! The sounds of battle were loud, and teeth snapped consistently and loudly. Hydra did not intervene—this was not her fight, and Hydra was no hero. If the other got back onto their feet perhaps Hydra might learn something... but if not, the fight would be over as soon as it began. Hydra mulled over that for a moment. Then, this wolf might come after her next... and certainly, Hydra could win against it with assistance.
It was her self-preservation that caused Hydra to join into the fight to assist the other. Quick as a bullet, Hydra moved for a rear limb upon the male while he was distracted during his assault upon Uma, tugging backward and gripping it savagely. This distracted it, but Hydra was out of his reach as her fangs pressed their full power upon his limb. There was a loud snap, and then he made an attempt to lunge at Hydra forgetting all about the wolf that had been beneath him.

Uma struggled beneath his weight, for in spite of his thin physique, he was overall larger than she was. His fangs sank into the side of her neck, drawing blood, and in that moment Uma was terrified. She had battled many in her five years of life, but she had never fought anyone while being in the weakened state in which she now found herself. His grip was just as vicious as it was relentless, and for a moment, Uma feared that she would die. She tried and tried, but could not push him away.
Suddenly the weight lifted deom her chest, and she was no longer pinned down. A novel racket ensued, the snap of bone unmistakeable due to the throaty cries of pain and anguish which followed. Uma lie still, utterly shocked by the sudden turn of events, the chance to meet her final doom now relieved. At last the surprise wore thin and Uma hoisted herself onto her feet. Blood oozed from her new neck wound, staining her snowy fur various shades of pink and red.
But Uma did not care.
She was angry, and she wished to make the agouti stranger pay for his trespasses against her. Obviously he was severely crippled, killing him would be easy. Her brow lowered and knitted together, a horrifying snarl ripping from her throat as she threw her weight into him. This time he was the one being pinned, her fangs driven into the soft, warm flesh of his throat. But she could not take him out on her own. Hopefully the dark female who had saved her life would find enjoyment in helping Uma kill the fucker. She remained on top of him with her teeth clamped around his jugular, but she lost her grip when he began to struggle.
She needed help. He had to die.

That had been his mistake.
The wolf he had pinned fortunately retaliated. There was an instant Hydra understood that this wolf might flee the scene altogether, leaving Hydra to this thing. With a broken leg she could take it, but it would take more effort than she desired to expend. As the other came for her, the stranger she had come to assist cut his movement short. They were upon the fallen wolf quickly, and even quicker than that was Hydra. As their fangs bore into him, so too did Hydra's.
It was dead before it even knew it. It had fallen limp and still and Hydra released, licking her bloodied chops and stepping back. Her ears flicked atop her crown as she regarded the sorry looking thing, not understanding its own motive. Either way, Hydra did not care. The thing was dead, and the ordeal was over with—nodding to the other, Hydra turned and was on her way.
