Masque's long tail gives her away—not too egregiously, but enough for Avicus to spot and recognize her from afar. she tails her daughter, the pungent badger-smell only hitting her nose as the distance closes. her nostrils flare and nose wrinkles.

clearly, the girl has noted the creature's presence, but she won't be able to handle it on her own; Avicus has never battled a badger, but she assumes the worst, especially after the battle.
