Just establishing some things <3
In the days that followed Kukutux's visit, Reverie found herself growing in both strength and protective instinct. She started to hunt more regularly for her family, and marked possessively around the cave they inhabited. The perceived invasion of their space had her hovering jealously over Lestan and Blossom, too; worriedly over the former, who she fussed over day and night. Each morning she would groom him lovingly, and every evening she brought him food and prompted him to eat if he hadn't already. Sometimes she spoke to him softly, words of love though he couldn't know it. Reverie held to the small hope that in time he would learn to recognize her affection.
Underneath the layers of love and worry and a sudden, crushing sense of responsibility, something nagged at her. The sundancer; a name, a title, a role unfulfilled. She could not remember. Why couldn't she remember? After a few days she began to try it again — dancing, proper dancing, in the way that held meaning and magic and a promise for the future. At first she only became dizzied or frustrated, and gave up quickly.
But one day, something clicked. She remembered —
The dance of the deer; and as the fluid motion of it filled her lungs and all of her veins and the space behind her eyes, she felt a golden glow all around her.
