She couldn’t say what brought her to Neverwinter Forest. She only knew that she was here, now. Hydra moved through the forest and thought of Rannoch, Rian, and Cypress–

The Beta grit her teeth. Rian. That was why she was here. With everything done with Blackfeather, Hydra wondered if he had fallen into their grips and after all this time...

A tawny flash of fur in the distance caused her to start. Hope was a silly thing. Best to rip it out by the roots now. Learn for certain that this was not, in fact, Rian... but some lesser stranger. Remember and know that he was gone, perhaps for good.

Hydra was abrupt in her approach. She swung around loosely to see their face, greeting them with a low bark. The scent was familiar in a way that unpleasantly turned her stomach, but in the moment she attributed it to the way Rian had made her feel. She swallowed thickly, ears flicking uncertainly.
