The way she had looked at the golden once-prince had not been missed by Hydra, who simply assumed that she knew plenty. After all, her subordinate and packmate had said as much, and she trusted him more than she trusted any wolf that ran with a pack that harbored a murderer of children. She edged nearer, already of half a mind that the others whimpers might satisfy her far more than even a legitimate answer would. It was the other half that maintained its grip upon her, but it was clear she would not ask again—or stand for silence. Answer true, Hydra commanded coolly, appearing eerily calm as she waited.
