Hydra listened to her son as he informed her of his day, leaning away to look down upon him as he mentioned he had looked for her. You know you are not meant to go far, she reminded, though she suspected he had not. Hydra had not smelled him beyond where he was permitted to go, else she would have been far more firm in her reminder. There are many scents upon Moonspear. It can be hard to track one, but I will teach you, she decided, one ear turning right as the wind provoked the trees nearby to engage one another. 

Her grooming continued, but she paused to add: after all, tracking will be quite important; you will see that tomorrow, when you and your siblings join your father and I on a hunt, and she resumed her work upon a fussy cowlick, knowing well that her news of them joining her on a hunt would excite him, given his love for meat.
