The truth of it was Hydra had not known he had left; for all of this time, she had thought he remained with the Nightwalkers. That was all well and good, given they were allies—and with how they had left things last, she truly did not expect him to come here of his own volition for some time. But Hydra had need of him, and they were family; her disappointments were not forgotten, but blurred in a warm, pink fog that coloured her world in a faint, familiar rose-gold.

His howl had come from a direction she did not expect, but as he sang back Hydra settled to her haunches, gaze holding fast to the horizon. Behind her, Moonspear cut its impressive shape that looked rather like draconian wings with the range at her back in a dark silhouette as the sun began its descent. She waited, patient and in Queenly repose—but her attention was distributed to her surroundings, one ear swiveling right to indicate as much.
