She returned the gesture, nosing him fondly and drawing in the scent of him that she would miss, too. And when he turned to go, Hydra watched until he was no longer in her line of sight. Even after this, Hydra reclined onto her haunches to sit there as though he might turn around and return to them, to her, even though in her heart she understood he was going his own way now. Hours later, Hydra would turn to ascend the peaks of her mountain again to spend time with her children.
