If there was anything off about the way Towhee handled the question, Bronco assumed it was because it was a tough topic- not because she was suddenly hit with the impulse to go check on her daughter. The way she spoke, it was like she'd been possessed by the beast that Wraen had spoken of- the one that simply steps in and takes control in a life or death situation, and it made him frown.
