He waited, hearing the soft reverb that the den added to his voice but in the darkness he could hear it- the sound of soft breaths which made the den into something of an animal itself with a heartbeat of its own. He stirred slightly, flicking his ears forward to see if there would be a response; he knew something had happened to her sides, from what Meerkat had told him, and he reflected back to the times when he'd bruised his ribs and when he'd been gored by a mule deer. Ribs were a sonofabitch to heal. But he'd been able to speak. 

"I know you're in there," It wasn't a threat, but he also wasn't really willing to accept the silent treatment- not after her silence had left him wondering if she'd been kidnapped or murdered. She owed him nothing, but that didn't keep him from feeling entitled to some sort of a response. He waited, peering into the darkness, eyes adjusting to the point where he thought he could make out the faint, chalky beige of her fur. He snuck forward, edging his toes past the line of shadow first, with the trepidation of a knight trying to tiptoe past a dragon. He scooched forward, only to clumsily inch-worm himself a foot past the entrance of the den and all of a sudden, the darkness claimed his entire head and neck. He jerked back, narrowly missing the lip of the den's entrance in a near-mirror of what had happened at Fennec's second den. He hissed softly, and crept toward the den's entrance again. "C'n you come out?" He asked, frustration dekeing its way into his voice.
