Redhawk Caldera Stray away from the forces that make you

Bronco had been a bit out of touch with the events that had taken place at the Caldera with regards to Eljay and Maia, and had little present awareness of the fact that Wraen was forming a pack in the Fen nearby, if he had any knowledge of it at all. He'd been told that Maia had been attacked, and he'd also been told that Meerkat had found her biological father, and these were pretty big events- but very little had preoccupied his conscious mind aside from Fennec's disappearance. So he wasn't able to connect the dots when Fennec tried to tell him something about Eljay, but it did concern him when the attempt pained her. 

He winced as she coughed, knowing how much it must have hurt her to do so. Wavering like a dry leaf on a branch, she pressed gently against him and he welcomed her, gently angling himself so that she could rest her head upon the soft fur of his neck, as he tucked his head beneath hers. He figured she might have a better time breathing if she used him as a pillow, and he was comfortable enough laying with the rest of his body curled against hers, to keep her warm.
