Mature Content Warning

This thread has been marked as mature. By reading and/or participating in this thread, you acknowledge that you are of age or have permission from your parents to do so.

The participants have indicated the following reason(s) for this warning: Baby making time!

There'd been a noticeable shift in Ariadne's demeanor as her body prepared to ovulate. She felt sluggish and bloated, couldn't keep up with @Kaluktuk's love-making, and was ravenous when she ate. She felt nothing like herself and frequently wondered if this was the beginning of her season. She hadn't anticipated such adverse side effects and felt down in general; this was supposed to be an exciting time!

She awoke one morning to a scent that was both familiar and foreign—a smell she'd sensed from others but one that she had never experienced herself. She lay there, still waking up, her head resting on her outstretched arms, as her head began to spin. She suddenly felt so unprepared for it all! So inexperienced! But there was nothing she could do to better prepare; it was time—her season was here.

Kaluktuk had left the camp early on, doing a routine stalk of the herd with a few of the other hunters, discussing with some of them the tactics used by the different groups and the potential for more hunting. He had gathered something to eat as he returned. As he got nearer to the Moonsong camp he took notice of a change in the air; this was good fortune, and Kaluktuk headed to the sequestered area of their camp that had become his and Ariadne's nest.

Quietly he put the bison meat aside, within reach if Ariadne hunkered—but Kaluktuk hoped her appetite was of a different nature now that her hormones had shifted. The man was careful in approaching her, not wanting to initiate something that she didn't want (although so far in their relationship both had shown such strong desire for the other). He crooned a low note to her, curious and of course interested.

Kaluktuk returned to their nest shortly after Ariadne had gotten her bearings. She was ravenous, craving his touch and the bison meat he'd brought back, and hot with desire. There was no denying that she wanted him; she quickly stood, her tail fanning over her back, and her croon in reply was nearly a moan.

I am glad that you are back, sangilak, she said, closing the distance between them and rubbing against him in a cat-like manner. Ariadne paused then, and glanced over her shoulder, allowing her tail to linger under his chin, and she grinned. There is much to do. Her voice was heavy with desire; the switch in her mind had flipped.

They had been liberal with their affections ever since that moment in the ice caves, with one or the other carefully initiating; but now as Kaluktuk looked upon the woman he saw the same desire magnified and focused upon him.

She called to her chosen, and he knew to obey. This was a dance they'd done so many times by now — but this time it would be different. This time would be the first with Ariadne in full bloom as a woman. All that Kaluktuk could think of as he fell upon her, ravenous, was the certainty that their futures were bound together. Their sons and daughters would be forces in the world.

Kaluktuk would not let himself fail again at fatherhood.

They'd been in sync since their first coupling, and this time was no exception. Kaluktuk heeded her call with passion, attention, and care that Ariadne had become accustomed to. His way of lovemaking was special; she cherished that this practice was just for her.

Although they went through similar motions, this was something far more critical than their usual sex; they would be forever bound after this by the lives that would be created as a result of their love.

She was speechless in the aftermath; the experience was unlike anything they'd experienced together. She lay there, breathless and preening at Kaluktuk's chest fur as she took a moment to collect herself. There was nothing but happiness upon her face and love in her eyes; she was undeniably in bliss.

They lay together in the aftermath, with Ariadne tugging at his furs, and Kaluktuk enjoyed the laziness for a time. He spared her some kisses, and then rested his head upon the furs of their bedding. His mind was empty of thoughts for a few minutes; then, with a faraway look, he was thinking of the future to himself.

Before the moment could take him down that blissful path of hazy, drifting nearly-sleep, he murmured, Agnaga, I love you.

She was speechless for a moment after he spoke, and she reached up and kissed him passionately—his wife! She was over the moon; she'd never felt happiness like this before. When she was able to speak again, she said: I love you, too, uiga. I am so happy and honored to call you that.

Then, happily sighing, she laid her head down, curled closer to him, and quickly fell asleep, exhausted by the morning's activities.
