Again her expression softened at the thought of him, but this time there was a pensive quality to it. She was remembering that he was the first person she had seen when she came awake in this new place. The first eyes she met, not the gold of the place which had created her but a brighter strain of sunlight, something bold and lively. A beautiful, cheerful color, but somehow he wore it in sorrow.
