Sawtooth Spire zweiter teil

mahler had always been sensitive to phaedra; it was the same now. helplessly he watched her pale and turn away. her efforts at composure should have been commended by any watching eye, but it was his own the gargoyle dropped now, a knowing plod in his gait as he followed.
mahler wanted to tell phaedra that he missed stag as well, and that the smoke of their last burning still choked him in the night. there were no words to make such sentiment palatable.
he wanted to pause, pull her against his chest; mahler settled for following her at a low plod, clearing his throat. "farming is taking some plants from vone place and putting them in the dirt of another."
the gargoyle faced toward silencepine. "vhen the vinter comes, the deer vill seek a home in the lower and sheltered forests. bringing their favored grasses to them, to grow here, vill remind them to come back. and thus rivenvood goes on."
the end, finished with a harrumph.
