All antlers are dangerous, Hydra forewarned. To be struck by them could mean grave injury, just like being struck by any of their legs. Their kick could kill you, if the blow lands upon your head, she looked to her son so that he would understand the strength of their quarry. Such is true for even deer. It is why alone we are no match against them unless they themselves are gravely injured, and also why we hunt the weakest among their herds. Hydra looked away from him, thoughtful for a moment as she remembered, Moose will shed their antlers in the months to come. Now, they are used for courting, and intimidating the rivals within their species so that the strongest of the bull moose may continue his line. Her ears flicked as she turned to look to her young son. 

He would not be any good at tracking now, she understood, but she could educate him on the bare bones of it. Only its scent, she confirmed, and we will not be going too far to find it. She knew it had passed through the rendezvous at some point for her to have become aware of it at all in the first place; it was further out than that now, but perhaps he might be able to suss out its smell. If not, she would guide him to it so he could get to know the scent of moose better. 

Hydra invited him beside her with the sweep of her muzzle to her side, trotting ahead several feet before turning to look to him.
