All Welcome
Set for Friday, September 28th.

A gentle wash of periwinkle had begun to appear in the waning daylight just as Rannoch, @Liffey, @Treason, and @Rueger approached Easthollow's southern-most parameters. Their journey from Sunspire to Easthollow had taken longer than any of them had anticipated, as the gift for @Valette and her children had slowed them down considerably. Despite the struggles they had endured, he knew that their collective effort would be worth it.

He turned towards Rueger and Treason, who had the responsibility of carrying the gift. "Good work, you two," he commended; carrying a bear hide was no easy feat. Rannoch had discovered a deceased bear in Northstar Vale and immediately knew that he had found something that was worthy to present to Valette.

"We'll stop here and call for Valette," Rannoch instructed; each member of the group knew why they were visiting Easthollow. Although he wasn't sure how she'd perceive the idea of Sunspire moving next door, he felt that the pelt would help sweeten the deal. Rannoch licked his chops and turned towards the sprawling territory that laid before them. It was much different than what they were used to but, beautiful in its own way.

Without another word, and without any further hesitation, Rannoch tipped back his head and invited Easthollow's Alpha to join them at the borders. There was no turning back now—Sunspire's move was in motion.

Treason thought dragging the damn thing all this way was pretty much beyond silly, but here she was helping out or whatever she'd call this.  Feeding insanity maybe.  It wasn't the kind of thing she'd do, at least -- if she was to bring gifts, they'd be edible and easy to port.  At the very least it'd keep her toned and ready for conflict?  Or something?

Part of the reason she even came along was because she was curious what Easthollow would even think of another pack moving in next door -- or next door-ish, she hadn't been to wherever was planned, but it seemed close.  The irony of leaving a place that had its food decimated by what seemed to be too many wolves only to end up next to an entire pack did seem rather silly.  But oh well.  She'd already proven that she could take care of herself pretty well, hadn't she?  The only real question that was left to her was how she'd be able to spar with Corvus if they were now going to be this far away.  Hell.  At least he seemed to enjoy wandering around more than she did?

Either way, she kept out of the front row and was fine with just watching whatever unfolded whenever someone answered Rannoch's howl.

Rueger was silently excited about visiting Easthollow, and hopefully seeing Valette again. Had she thought of him? Probably not. As a leader, he was sure she had plenty of other things on her mind. Still, it didn't quell his excitement. Outwardly, he remain calm, as if this was something he did every day.

He did his best to help carry the bear skin. It was heavy and bulky, but it was a great gift, that he hoped Valette would like. They stopped at the borders, and Rueger remained standing with the bear skin, his tail wagging back and forth slowly as his eyes scanned the horizon.

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.

Valette had been worried about one of her packmates. Greyback had been gone for a long time. What if something happened!? She ought to look for him, but she couldn't just leave the pack. She had gone up the slopes of Bearclaw Valley to see if the dark clouds were still there but it seemed they weren't anymore. The female doubted that her brother would mind her using the steep slopes of his territory as a vantage point. Still, there was no Greyback, but what she saw was a group of wolves approaching. It looked like they were going to Easthollow.

Valette could use a distraction. The female quickly hurried home to see if the group would come to Easthollow. She thought she recognized Rueger in that group as she had seen him recently. But she couldn't be certain with that distance. She kept close to the border in case, besides, the borders could use some tending now Greyback wasn't helping her with that. Once the howl sounded Valette turned on her heels to greet the wolves. She indeed knew them. Rueger, and... Rannoch! She didn't know the other two though. Still, it was clear they were from Sunspire as well.

"Hello, Rannoch, Rueger, and friends," she greeted. "Welcome to Easthollow. I'm Valette," she introduced. The latter looked rather excited but the female couldn't really fathom why he would. Then her eyes fell on a thick hide. Her internal alarms instantly started to go off, it scented like a bear. Did they kill a bear for its hide? This certainly was a good distraction for the female. They were on good terms with the Sunspire pack, at least she liked to think so. This was a good sign they were giving her a gift in return.

Arlette was over 4 months old and still as eager to explore the world around her. She had been good at staying within the borders as most adults would keep an eye on her. But now she was getting more curious what was out there. She knew her birthplace pretty well by now but she also realized that she needed her mother to feed her and teach her how to get food. That was why it was extra exciting when someone howled for her mother. Arlette was extremely curious and instantly propelled herself to the borders.

As pale girl approached she noticed that there wasn't one but four wolves. Her red eyes widened. It was like the last time when Bearclaw Valley came to visit them and she could play with other pups! This was exciting. But these wolves didn't have other pups. How disappointing. The girl made her way down, curiosity getting to her. Plus, her mother's stance was friendly. If her mother was weary she knew better than to show her face at the borders. She learned that by now.

Her mother was greeting the other wolves! Arlette dashed forward and then under her mother. For a pup of four months, she was rather small as she had been the runt of the litter. The girl popped her head between her mother's front legs, red eyes wide and curious. "I'm Arlette!," she introduced herself, her tail was wagging but probably only her mother could feel that. Then her eyes fell on the skin, it looked like the bison skin they had in their den. Their father was using it now to keep warm. He was ill. Arlette could only remember him being ill, really.

Liffey had mixed feelings about this trip. She understood Rannoch's need to do the honorable thing and consult with their allies before moving in next to them, but she had yet to see this Hollow they had chosen and so she had yet to understand just why it was worth all of this effort. The one thing she did understand was the fact that she loved her mate - her alpha, her partner, and father of her children. If this is what he wanted, she would go willingly wherever he lead.

Still, the bear skin was definitely over the top...

Least she hadn't had to carry it.

She gave a thoughtful glance at Treason and Rueger as they awaited the Easthollow wolves. She couldn't boast being particularly close to either of them, but Treason at least she had been familiar with prior to the trip. Rueger... she was struggling to remember how long he'd even been part of the pack. Liffey gave both a smile in an attempt at seeming encouraging. Fortunately, their requested guest arrived before she looked like she was straining herself too terribly.

The woman knew Rueger and Rannoch, so Liffey guessed she was Valette before she got to that part. She offered a smile to the woman before sharing it with the smaller wolf she assumed was likely her daughter. She kept quiet and looked to Rannoch, allowing him to make the introductions since they were old friends.

With Chan's permission wrapping this up.

It seemed that the Sunspire wolves were moving closer to them and brought a gift for her. Valette was quite amazed they got a bearskin for her. This probably meant their bison skin was well received. Valette had no problem with the pack moving to the valley. She saw them as allies and friends. If they were close they could only be quicker to help them if needed. They had more than enough food for their current numbers and didn't need to venture often out of Easthollow. This was also good for Arlette to see that the packs in the neighborhood were friendly.

Valette already knew Rueger as a friendly male, and even though Treason, (assumingly introduced) seemed a bit strict, Valette deemed her friendly enough. She hoped that their alliance would become as great as it was with Morningside.
