Loneliness was a disease. He felt sick with it, at least. Panacea was more than capable of self-sufficiency but he was tired of it, tired of being alone, and with winter on the horizon he knew that it was time to finally start looking for a place.

No guarantee that this pack would be it, but he called at the border nonetheless, unaware that he had arrived during a time of turmoil for the resident pack. Panacea had always had terrible timing.

it's a rare sight, but here it was—a fiery pelt even more vibrant than hers. coupled with the striking blue eyes, he caught her attention nearly as much as the call.

but it's a weary, paranoid Avicus that heeds it, shuffling down to the border all a-bristle.

you are? she demands, thrusting her chin up in question. 

the summons, she thinks, indicates someone seeking entry. she's unsure, though. maybe it's a spy. (and if she knew his true blood, she'd be sure of that. alas. . .)

winter comes, however, and they need hunters.

A call at the border for leadership earns his attention. 

Mulherin is quick to the scene with tail flagged, but not before his mother. He has never seen another wolf as blood red as her, until now, as he sets his eyes on the one who has summoned them. The stranger, relatively impassive, doesn't seem to be a threat. His aggression simmers, continuing toward the pair at a now relaxed pace.

The boy offers a soft woof to Avicus as he approaches, taking to her side in a show of support. He can sense her tension, unsure if it stems from the stranger themself, or a broader anxiety. 

He is silent for now, awaiting the stranger's answer to her question.
