Swiftcurrent Creek So I offered you my hand

Freshly dug dirt tickled his nostrils and double ears swerved and shifted. He had been uncomfortable underground longing for his spot by the river. But he knew they would go back. And it wasn't like he couldn't hear the river. And the babies were safer, @Arlette was happy. He'd make it work.

He was almost drifting off when suddenly a sharp pain lit up the crown of his head and his eye. As a small paw in restless movement nailed him hard.

His head was up and his words slurred. Im up!Puppy.soallgood?mm

Arlette was uncomfortable. She couldn't really get comfortable. Arric had dug her a wonderful den. It had been quite some work with him being able to fit in and she with her wide size as well. She had been rather fidgety in her sleep.

A huff came from her and she tried to rearrange herself but with that she punched Arric with her front paw. She had been half asleep and not really realizing that she did it. Arlette voiced a low hiss as she tried to shift herself further. Her back ached.

She had thought she had reached her max last week but she had clearly grown even wider and heavier. Arlette kicked out again, trying to stretch out some more. Hmmpff. She grumbled and sighed in complained.

Another kick and now he was wide awake. Head up, ears splayed a paw to his nose. Shit fuck he tasted copper and bitter.

Arlette was hmmphing and grumbling and moving about. It was rather comical to see her rolling about in the dirt like an angry little bumblebee, but well bigger.

He touched her shoulder.What hurts love bug?

Maybe he could ease some of it ifhe pressed with his paws like he saw those weird freaking cats do. Would that help? How did one even do it? But he'd try.

Arlette jerked awake when Arric touched her. She shot her eyes at Arric, confused. She smelled blood. She was a little dazed and moved her nose closer to the source. She licked it. Whathappened? she muttered.

She blinked then. Just uncomfortable, she admitted. Arlette didn't want to complain too much though. However, she was not comfortable. The pups had also decided that they had far too little space and were battling for space. Arlette panted softly. Her stomach clearly very active with babies in there.

Arlette shifted again and planted herself against, or well, half on top of Arric spooning into him. Especially when she laid on her side it was clearly bulging to the side she was not laying on. They are so wild already, she mumbled.

He laid his ears to his skull when she perked away. Bless her soul. She was already so tired. And it took her forever to fall asleep and he'd just woken her.

Oh you know. A love tap.

She lay on top of him and he had to take a deep breath and hold. Because it was about to whoosh out.

He shifted so she would be more comfortable and it was awkward and hard but he tried to maneuver a paw around her to rib at her side where the seemed most active.

Arlette let out a snort. I'm glad you see it as love, she spoke. She now could stretch out her four limbs. Good. She was glad. Though one hind leg didn't even touch the ground at this point. She did feel his leg lie over her ribs to her belly.

The pups were still going strong and kicking against that leg. Arlette sighed. Instead of his leg being moved by her steady breathing it was basically bouncing on top of her. Arlette tried to sleep but it was hardly possible.

Arric, they are already so active. How are we very going to manage raising them?

Arric chuckled. It wasn't exactly love, but he wasn't about to make her feel bad for something she couldn't control. Her body was changing. It was restless and tired. She was tired and restless emotionally, mentally. He couldn't imagine what she maybe going through. 

All he could do was hope to help her in some small way. 

Arric laughed at the pups moving his leg. Sorry Arlette, but that is kinda cute as hell.

He soothed a muzzle along her head. We just do our best. That's all we can do.

Had she ever told anyone how glad she was for Arric? Because damn, this man was really the man of her dreams. He always showed her another perspective or looked at things with such positive simplicity. Because, yes, they could only try their best. She had to chuckle as well.

I know, thanks for making this all less scary, she hummed. He had already taken so much care for her. It was quite wonderful. She sighed and wiggled her toes. I am sorry for punching you, at least now you are safe from my moving legs, she joked.

Arric didn't know if he was saying the right things. Frankly didn't care. He just wanted to be sure she knew. Where he stood and what he thought. No matter what it was. He had faith they would be able to take care of them well. That they would be good parents. Akavir had a few under his belt and even Arlette had been a mother before. He was new to it, but they would guide him of that he had no doubt.

He laughed. I probably deserved it. It's cool.

He made a soft hmm hmm noise and licked along her ears. And buried his face into her ruff to take a lungful of her. And sighed happily.

Arlette chuckled. She kind of wanted to argue that he didn't deserve it at all. He had been the greatest in taking care of her. She only mumbled something of an argument. Her eyes were already closed as she was tired enough to try and sleep again. She only slept in sort burst. She let out a soft sigh. Soon she would be able to meet their puppies. It was very exciting.

Even with the pups being rowdy she still managed to pass out. She hoped Arric would be able to sleep as well. At least now when she kicked it would be away from him.
