For whatever reason Sunhawk had ended up in the Glen. It took exactly two braincells (which the author will argue he definitely has) to figure out this place was heavily patrolled. Any second now, the occupants would roll up M1A1 style, wracking their shotguns and stomping the grass with their loud decrees of GET THE FUCK OFF MY LAWN.
The only problem was Sunhawk's two braincells and his fully functional nose were arms-deep in some juicy deer haunch, so he had no idea. Really. Not even a single clue that any second now, his venison chili was going to be rudely upturned.
So he walked oblivious to the gradual shortening of his life, until he saw two shapes up ahead prowling through the glen. Two hulking shapes with lamp light eyes and very clear body language.
Oh fuck.
Sunhawk forgot all about his haunch, dropped it, tripped over it two seconds after, and landed splat on his face in front of two of the angriest, surliest looking brothers he had ever seen.

Post 300!
Osiris and @Atlas had been patrolling their new claim when they spotted an unfamiliar figure in the distance. He stopped abruptly, turning towards his brother. "Do you see that?" Osiris asked, motioning with his muzzled towards the unidentified individual. His posture shifted, refining with a newfound duty: this was his land now. The brothers moved forward in silent agreement, meeting the unknown wolf half-way, until Sunhawk ungracefully tumbled and landed with a splat in front of them.
"You're trespassing," Osiris informed in a growl as he looked down at the trespasser, his tail lifting in tandem with his warning. If Sunhawk had any sense, he'd heed the warning.

The dark shade turned his sights toward the item his brother was speaking about. His sunlight gaze locked on the movement and he was swift to lift his dark crown into the air and breathe in the autumnal fragrance until he noted the aroma of another wolf. Glancing toward Osiris, the shadow from the mountain nodded his head and felt the hackles along his neck and back rise.
Their claim on that land would be new and it was likely they would find some who were either too foolish to steer clear of it or were too brazen to try to avoid it. Regardless, Atlas did not fear the wolf who had stepped into their hopes of a home. The shadow swallowed his anxieties and took his place at his sibling’s side. Osiris informed the beast that he was trespassing on land that was marked for claim. The stranger did appear to be something of a bumbling moron. Could they really hold him accountable?
“It would be best to leave,” the inkwell remarked with a nod toward the outskirts of the glen.

When Sunhawk looked up from the haunch and wiped the dirt off of his nose, he became aware of two things.
One, there were two very stern wolves standing in front of him.
Two, very stern.
His balls seemed to shrivel up into his stomach as he righted himself. He was more concerned about that (and the terrifying fear these two implicitly seemed to elicit) than the tasty morsel of haunch he'd been anticipating eating earlier.
"Oh, uh." Bumblehawk perspired, visibly uncomfortable. Normally he'd introduce both of them to the old Sunhawk wiles, but two against one wasn't great odds in his eyes and both of them looked as chill as Jerry's Redhot Habanero Sauce. Meaning, they probably served up more than a bite. "Wait, you said claimed..? I didn't take this haunch from you guys, promise."

Sunhawk began to speak, bumbling through his thoughts with the grace of a newborn fawn. "Yes, claimed," Osiris confirmed, drawing a step closer to the stranger. "You are trespassing in our territory, and you need to leave," he reiterated, feeling his patience growing thin.
"This is my last warning—" Osiris advised with a click of his jowls, "—leave."

Osiris stood tall, accepting none of the nonsense that came from the unknown wolf. For a fleeting moment, the inkwell pitied the stranger. He was only a fool and he had only wandered into the fledgling pack’s intended claim in search of food. Of course, that did not excuse the sun-touched hunter’s intrusion. As his brother demanded the trespasser leave, Atlas glanced toward him with an impassive expression.
“We will escort you to the border and expect you not to return… unless your intentions are to join our ranks,” the shade rumbled. With that remark, the inkwell brother glanced to Osiris. He wanted to convey that he did not think it wise to allow this fool to leave their territory of his own accord. It would have been better for the two of them to ensure he did not linger.

Oh Jesus Manboy Alfred, these boys were serious. Too serious. Sunhawk wondered if they spent their entire life locked in the pram; not a spark of joy between the two of them.
Yeesh.
He took a step back as Osiris spoke, and then another as Atlas did. Sunny no likey the way they inched forward like goblins about to push him into a incinerator.
Fuck, he was in trouble.
Sunhawk lifted his chin ever so slightly, spilled out the world's sunniest beaming smile as if he was about to say something charming - and then he fuckin' bolted, leaving nothing but dust (and farts) in their face.

When Sunhawk ran, Osiris gave chase—bolting towards the intruder with a click of his jaws. He had no reason to check to see if Atlas was following, as he was confident that his brother would assist.
They had a lot of ground to cover before they'd make it to the borders, and so Osiris trailed after the brunette with a manageable clip. Every so often, he'd snap at the interloper's heels and would instantly regret getting his nose so close to Sunhawk's rear-end; he stunk.

The chase was on as the bumbling beast fled the scene.
Osiris was quick to fall into pursuit. The darker brother watched with an impassive expression before he slunk after the fool and the hellhound who nipped at their heels. It did not appear that the sun-touched wolf would want to remain and risk his wellbeing to negotiate with the brothers. And while Atlas did not actually believe it was wise to simply let the stranger find his own way out, he was not certain that he had the drive to threaten the male’s life.
Following his sibling, the inkwell watched their target with a curious burning intensity. He did not stir when his brother snipped at the trespasser’s retreating form. He remained as a shadow, waiting to make sure that the stranger disappeared, and Osiris remained safe.

All these BUMBLING BUMBLEFOOTS after BUMBLEHAWK like BUMBLEWHITE on BUMBLERICE!!
Not really. (Don't google Bumblefoot.) Just two terrifying brothers cruisin' around, out in the town, lookin' to pound some silly clown's head in. That clown? It Bumblehawk.
He ran as fast as his legs could carry him. For some species, like a horse, that's pretty fast (allegedly 55mph, WTF Speedyleggies). Others, like a walrus on land, don't go that fast at all. Sunhawk was more flumpin'-walrus than Spirit Stallion Of The Cimarron. All the same his bushy tail was boogeying with Osiris and Atlas hot on the take.
He forgot all about dinner (sad), focusing more on not running smack into a tree. A few times, they nearly caught him - Osiris even got a nip or two on one of his bobbing hocks, and in those instances Sunhawk put his pedal to the metal even more than usual.
Only drawback to the glen was that there was a lot of uphill - Sunhawk was huffing and puffing as he finally came within sight of what he assumed was the borders. No turning back, no saying good bye to the world's worst welcome committee -- Sunhawk was A U D I.

Osiris and Atlast chased after Sunhawk until he was gone from their territory, slowing his roll when he began to recognize the familiar landmarks that neighbored the territory's boundaries. He stood, watching until the intruder's form vanished within the foliage of the Heartwood.
Please with their work, and with his tongue lolling, Osiris turned to Atlas with an expression of contentment. "Good work," he praised his partner-in-crime.

Just as soon as the stranger had arrived, he had disappeared.
Atlas watched the retreating form of the strange wolf until the fool had vanished from his line of sight. Part of him hoped that he would never cross paths with that oddity again, knowing that he likely wouldn’t have had the patience to deal with such stupidity for an extended period of time. He was grateful that the trespasser had left quickly and had not attempted to stand his ground. It would have been harder for them to have to show their force when they were still so new – fledglings.
“Didn’t do much, but that’s fine by me,” the inkwell commented quietly. “Let’s go freshen the borders so we don’t get anyone else carelessly wandering through.” With that, the two bothers continued their patrol and made certain that their glen was safe.
